Hi! I've really enjoyed visiting this site over the last couple of weeks. I'm visiting WDW in two weeks and I had a question about the Epcot corporate lounges. Any employees of GM or GMAC know what we're supposed to bring or where we go to get into the employee lounge at Fast Track. Also, is it true we can go to the front of the line? How? I appreciate your help!

Just use the secret password (Pete Moore) and you'll get more for less!

LOL. I though it was "Ellie" from the zoo, or am I going too far back with that one?

Sandy Sansing used to have his commercials out there.

Ellie moved to Tampa back in 2003. If you use the password (Sandy) you'll get moved to the back of the line and they won't allow you into the corporate lounge.

I don't think you get to the front of the line, but I believe you get some sort of "right now" fast pass, meaning you don't have to wait until a certain time window to get there, but you do go in (and wait, if necessary) in the regular fast pass line. At least that's how I understood the HP corporate benefits to work when we toured their lounge at Mission Space during the Undiscovered Future World tour.

That sucks. :( When we were members of the GE Executive Club, we got to entirely bypass the line for Horizons. We took a special hallway from the corporate lounge to the unload area and got on there. I miss those days.

If you call it Fast Track, not only will they not let you into the corporate lounge, they won't let you on the ride at all. Say it with me: TEST TRACK.

My brother had an incredible hook-up. He worked for Met Life and when they used to operate the Wonders of Life pavillion, he and his family got to know the lady who worked the desk at the employee lounge there pretty well. She ended up giving us all a big stack of cards to get into EVERY corporate lounge in every park. FedEx of course had a lounge at Space Mountain...and they would guide you up past all the people waiting in line and put you right on the ride. And it was a free coke whenever you wanted it at any of the lounges. Good times!!! :)

My father used to work for Exxon and we used the lounge in the UoE. That was sweet! We'd eat donuts and have soda while watching a countdown clock for the next show. When it was time, we would bypass the intro show with the rotating screens out in the hallway ( this is the old UoE, not the Ellen version) and sit down in the moving theater seats. It was kind of eerie sitting in that huge room all by yourself:lookaroun . then the doors would open and all the guests would pour in and look at you like "What the Hell?" We always thought that was funny!

This past November, my best friend and I were in the Test Track shop after we rode the ride. My best friend, Heather, was doing the license maker, but decided at the last minute not to do it. It was too late, and it already began to print. Not wanting to have done it, Heather went around the shop and asked every employee if she could just give her money back. Every employee nicely said that they can't do that, so we just gave up. Just then, she asked one last person, and he said he couldn't, but we ended up talking to him for a while.

He was really nice and funny, and kept on making fun of the way I looked and the way that Heather was acting. I forget his name, but I distinctly remember that he said he didn't work for Disney, but worked for GM, and that's why he was at Test Track. He was actually supposed to be in the car showplace instead of the gift shop. Anyway, we ended up talking to him for a good half hour, and he was really funny and friendly.

Eventually, he told us that if we came back tomorrow and asked for him, he would take us up to the GM lounge. He said that the view is great from up there, and he would take us up there himself. So we told him that we would meet him there the next day. We were about to leave, but then he asked us if we wanted to ride Test Track again, but we said we should really be going. But he told us that we don't need to wait, because he can just take us to the front of the line. He brought us over the the GM desk near the cars, and told us to wait there, and told the man behind the desk to talk to us until he came back. The other man was really nice, but we didn't mention anything about what the guy was letting us do, in case he shouldn't be doing it, we didn't want to get him in trouble.

So finally he came back, and now that I think about it, I can't remember exactly where he brought us. He took us to some stairs that went up, and then around a corner, and then we found ourselves by the exit of the ride, where you get out of the cars. He said he had to leave us here, and he got a woman CM to take care of us from there. She let us through, stood with us, and let us on the next car that came. Heather and I were in shock that this had happened, we had just been basically backstage in Test Track and were invited to come back to see the lounge tomorrow. It was surreal.

We actually didn't end up going back the next day. We were supposed to go to the Magic Kingdom, then go to Epcot to see the lounge, and then go back to Magic Kingdom. I think it ended up that we were too tired to leave and come back, so we just stayed. Plus, Heather's parents weren't too into the idea of this man that we just met taking us backstage. We later realized that this wouldn't be a smart idea either. I mean, yeah, it's Disney, but you never know. Not that I didn't trust the man. I actually regret it now. I really would have liked to see the lounge.

So that's my lounge story.

Oh! I have a question, too. My dad is a car salesman for GM. I know this probably wouldn't get me into the GM lounge at Test Track, right? But also, my uncle OWNS the company that sells GM cars, so what I'm saying is that my dad works for my uncle, his brother. Since my uncle owns a company that sells GM cars, could that possibly get me in the GM lounge, if I had valid proof with me? It's probably doubtful, but what do you think?

What I would suggest you do is have your father and uncle contact GM and inquire about the corporate lounge. There may be special identification required to get in. They may also have to sign-up. We had to sign up for the GE Executive Club and we got a membership card which we showed to the receptionist at the entrance to the lounge. Then we were allowed on the elevator into the lounge. And there we got free soda; free tangerine candy; a clean, air-conditioned bathroom; and a bypass of the queue.

Does anyone have any pictures of the corporate lounges, Horizons in particular? I was so young when the GE lounge was open that I never even thought to take pictures. I can still see it perfectly in my head, but photos would be nice.

Thank you so much. I will definitely have my dad look into this, and if we need to, my uncle as well. I wouldn't mind signing up, and I'm sure my father wouldn't either. Does signing up mean that you are signing up for the GE Executive Club with a membership card? Also, does it cost money to join? I'm going in 19 days, so would that be enough time to have them send us the membership card? Also, I'm not going with my family or my dad (I have gone to WDW three times in the past four years, but not with my own family since 1998), so if I brought the card with me, would I still be allowed in?

Well, the GE Executive Club doesn't exist anymore (that was for Horizons). But I'd imagine that the GM program is similar. I don't think the GE club cost money to join, but GM may be different. If you didn't get a membership card in time, they'd probably be able to look you up in the computer. As far as going by yourself and using your father's card, that would be up to GM, and I have no idea. With the GE club, I know we were allowed to bring guests in with us, but we never went seperately, so I don't know about that. The best thing to do is have your father contact GM and have them explain it to you.

Sorry, I got confused with the GE and GM clubs. I knew that Horizons was sponsored by GE, I just didn't see what I was writing. Thanks for the information. I'll have my dad contact them as soon as he can, and he can tell them about the situation, about how I'm going in 19 days and how he won't be there with me. It doens't hurt to ask, and we'll see what they say. Thanks again for all the information.

By the way, where exaclty should we call? :veryconfu

Your father may have an employee line to GM. If not, he may have a better idea of where to call within GM. If not, there's probably just the main line to GM.

You are very welcome. I hope you end up being able to visit the lounge.

I hope I end up being able to visit the lounge, too, and once again, thank you very much!

GM lounge at TT

 Hi. My husband worked for GM a lot of yrs. so we used his ID to get into the lounge a lot. It used to be when you get to TT, go to the right just past the single line, I think, and theres a door. go in the door and then theres a buzzer to push. when the girl comes on, tell them you are a GM employee or have an ID. she will open the door to an elevator and you come out in the lounge. they have punch there and you can sit as long as you like. theres a beautiful view of the park. also, you can see some of TT running. then, when youre ready to ride, you go back to an elevator and out this door and you are almost the next ones to ride. was very cool. dont know if they do that any more or not. my husband had to show his work ID badge. hope this helps. have a magical trip. next trip to the world...Jan. 2007. yaaaay!:sohappy:

Did you ever go into the lounge back when it was the World of Motion?

You're right-Fast Track is a claims term I use all day, so I wasn't thinking straight. Of course we could start a rumor GM sold Test Track to little brother GMACI- we could change the name and change the ending to a real accident.
