EMH: Yes or No

I have read a lot of people say that they avoid Early Extra Morning Hours. I personally love them. I get there and take my time and hit most of my fave rides usually before the regular crowds fill in. I have yet to try the evening extra magic hours because with a kiddo it tends not to work too well and we are early risers.

I know Touringplans.com(unofficial guide) usually lists whatever park that has EMH as a park to avoid and I understand their logic. However, you can really get a ton done before the crowds get thick by taking advantage of EMH

That's why I take part in EMH. There is so much you can get done before the crowds hit.

We always plan on doing them, but actually end up never, either my son is so exhausted or we miss them. But we always say oh next time we will...and maybe next time we really will.

love them. It's great walking down Main Street early morning and walking onto rides. And the MK really is amazing with how it lights up at night.

I am absolutely all for Morning EMH! I was able to walk on every single ride at MK when I did morning EMH in September. It was great! By 10am I had hit all of my favorite rides and I was able to wander around and take my time and enjoy the atmosphere after that.

I'm not a huge fan of morning EMHs but the evening ones are awesome!! Nothing like having a Jungle Cruise boat almost to yourself.

I absolutely use both morning and evening EMH. You can get so much done in the am when no one goes especially in Sept. I usually have something to eat around noon at the park and then leave and go back to the resort, have a nap or swim and then back out to the parks, if there is EMH in the pm it's a bonus.

I don't go for multiple day trips as often as I did years back, but when I do stay at a resort I always go to both morning and evening EMH. Each have their merits, so "yes".

I like EMH at MK in the evenings. People with young children will leave after the parade and fireworks. Lines will be shorter and if the park is open til 2:00 am you can ride almost everything in the last hour.

I always plan around staying for evening EMH and avoiding morning EMH. I'm not a morning person and I love all of the parks in the evening in general and staying out in a park as late as possible.

We take advantage of morning EMH. We usually ride all of our fave rides several times before the crowds get there!
Didn't have such good luck for evening EMH @ DHS.

Aside from EMH, you have to be smart. Get to the park at opening and enjoy relative quiet until the families and slackers roll in around 11am. Then head back to your resort for a mid-afternoon nap or whatever, eat in peace there. Come back around 4-6pm when all those families are heading out again because of cranky, tired and hungry kids. Spend the rest of the night there. The longer you're there (or later you arrive) the less crowded it will be... The later you're there, the thinner the crowd.

I found that while I could get a few things done in that hour, the crowdedness that followed until noon un-did any extra time I might have gained during the EMH. So, I just quit doing them.

I know I can get as much done in a less crowded, non-EMH park than I can in an EMH park. I kept track just to see, lol.

I avoided EMH parks when I was still staying in WDW hotels and after I gave up on Disney hotels, too, obviously.
