Can't believe they changed EMH for July at MK. Had set up BOG dinner for Sunday night and then spend last night at MK with EMH. Now changed to Saturday Night. My last conference day is Sunday morning so I guess it might be a late nite on Saturday. Had everything planned pretty good. Nice monkey wrench. Thanks Disney

True, but if they made changes that didn't take affect until 61+ days out, nobody would have to change existing FP+. And if they made changes that didn't take affect until 181+ days out, nobody would have to change existing ADRs.

They change park hours all the time, and that's not usually a big deal. Especially since most of the time they're extending hours. But with everything being so structured these days, and almost requiring guests to pre-book everything, they need to understand that drastic changes to their schedules should at least be pushed out 61+ days.

I believe this has to do more on budget than anything. If I recall - a fiscal year closes at the end of June. And the fiscal year for 2015 starts July 1, 2014. So this was a decision on behalf of TD to cut park spending. By eliminating EMHs (notably 8/11), reducing park closing times, and within the last 9 months eliminating park entertainment - they are significantly reducing budget spending (no need for CMs, running attractions late, etc). I am not a fool - I contribute this to MM+ it is an easy target. And while Staggs and crew can brag that guest spending is up - it is not enough to recoup the billion + already spent.

I thought their fiscal calendar ended around October.

Not happy about this...Evening EMH at MK has been Sunday for a long time. And Evening EMH at Epcot was Tuesday for a long time too. They should not change it so close to the dates, when they KNOW people have booked their trips, ADR's and FP+ reservations accordingly. More advance notice of park hour changes would be nice.

Actually, Epcot's Tuesday hours have had early EMH for over 3 yrs and Wednesday has had the evening EMH.

No matter when they change them, there will always be a group of guests inconvenienced.....

So when and how are they going to change it then? Every single day is someone's 180 days out window. As was posted as topic of another thread, CRT is going down for a lengthy refurb. This got the notice because of the 180 day window approaching soon.

Sorry bout yer luck with your ressies and EMH, but hey, at least you're goin... Lots of others that can't even say that...

Actually, Epcot has had extra evening hours on Fridays for a very long time. I got out my hard copies to make sure. I know they used to change the emh's in late May each year. But, it was posted way ahead of time. I would always keep an eye on that starting at three months out. MK has had early hours on Thursdays and evening hours on Sundays for as long as I can remember. Of course the evening hours were for three hours, instead of two, as they are now.
I really believe, as others on here, that those late extra hours are on their way out. That is the only reason, at this point, that we stay onsite. If the emh's go, then we'll be staying at a larger, nicer place offsite. We may occasionally stay onsite just because we like the atmosphere.

If EMHs leave - I will likely no longer stay on site. I am positive that the premium for staying on site will be the ability to reserve FP+ 60 days out. While that ability is nice - I can save my money and stay off site for a lot less.

Evening EMH at Epcot was on Tuesdays in summer the last two years. At least the Tuesdays I was there.
