Does anyone know what we are seeing in the Expedition Everest photos? Is the white (concrete?) portions part of the actual mountain/ride or a surrounding facility building. (Shops?)

Just a drive by...

Among my many different roles, I work the Package Pickup department for AK. Sooooooo I drive directly behind that site once a week, sometimes more. I believe it is the base of Everest itself, but I could be wrong. I am happy to see so much excited toward this attraction.

There was an issue of Forbes with a great picture of the model of the attraction. Anyone have it?

I am pretty excited but I will have a long time to wait until it is finished. What was nice about M:S is we saw very detailed photos of progress. It will be difficult to get up-close and detailed pics of the progress for Everest. ...unless we can get a WDWMAGIC "agent" up close with a pencil-sized digital camera and a self-destructing video recorder. Of course, arsenic pills will be necessary in the event the agent gets captured.
:hammer:

Well I would take pictures for your guys from my vantage point, but then I'd get fired so ya, not worth it. That's the great thing about Everest, it's mystery, oh ya!

Let's hope it is a good attraction. I'm under the impression that it is a coaster? Anyone know what manufacturer they are using for this attraction? That would give me more of a clue.

No... It's a mine train. But it will go foward AND backwards!

Where there's a will there's a way...I'll try to get real good close ups, when I'm up there sometime in the coming weeks...its not as difficult as you think....:animwink:

The good thing about E:E is that there's no construction wall like with M:S, so you can see the whole construction site without any obstruction.

It is likely at this point that Everest will open in early 2006, probably around the park's birthday.

Yes, Vekoma is doing the ride system and trains. Totally a custom job.

The white structure is indeed the lower portion of the mountain.

Thanks! Now I know a bit about what it will be. I know these manufactures well and the types of things they can do. I can't wait to see it.

Is that part going to stay white? I though there would be snow only at the top!?!?

I doubt that they have started theming the mountain yet. That's probably the last thing to be done. I bet they are going to build over the intial structure with a more realistic facade.
