Eating?

My sister and I are planning on participating in the DCP next spring and were wondering about meals while you are working at the park. I know that a lot of times you work from opening til closing so do you bring your own lunch AND dinner? Or is there any kind of cast member cafeteria?

Yeah, the cafeterias that are ran by the different company is a little pricy. But, there is a special location at Disney Animal Kingdom where I ate everyday really cheap. The food that cost guests $12 or so only cost us cast members $5. Its called Castasaurus or something like that. If you go into Dinoland USA, and go to restaurantosaurus, on the left side of it there is a cast gate there. Attached to restaurantosaurus is that restaurant for cast members only. The food sold there is mostly the same that is offered into restaurantosaurus, but they do a weekly special that is a dish from one of the other restaurants. Just a note, I assume its still there, this was back in 2005. :)

I always took my lunch/dinner because my area was so far from the cafeteria that I'd loose half of my break walking. Plus that way I was saving money to spend on more fun things.

I would recommend bringing your own food with you. The cafeterias are expensive, and depending on where you end up working you could be very far away from them.

For example:

Some days I would be working in the America Pavillion in EPCOT as a Custodian...and that cafeteria would close early so if I didn't pack a lunch, I would have to wait for the bus backstage to take me all the way to Test Track to get my food over there, eat it, and take the bus back. Thank god I was a custodian but if I worked over in that country and was only assigned a 30 minute break then it would take forever for sure.
