Eating at Kona Cafe

Hmmm....you can take the bus to the TTC at MK and then transfer on over to the resort monorail. It'll stop at the Polynesian. The stop is on the second floor and so it Kona Cafe.

Or you can walk up the trail that leads from the TTC into the Polynesian's grounds. Its just a short walk and we did it frequently when we stayed there. You will save time not having to wait for the monorail.

I'd take the bus to MK then the monorail to Poly. I don't think I've ever seen a bus from a resort I stayed in that went to TTC. They generally go to the parks, waterparks, or DTD.

The bus to MK and monorail to the Poly will be your best bet. If you are driving PM me and I will show you a back way in that will cut about 10 minutes off of your drive time.

ok first of all for those of us who dont know all the abbreviations yet what is TTC? and can I go directly there from POR or do I go to MK then to TTC?

You could, but that is one of the ones that has a time limit so people don't park there and go to the MK. Its easier to use WDW transportation during the day and drive yourself when you will be out late at night.

Seems like it'd just be easier to drive over there youself tho and park at the TTC. Then you can walk to the Poly from there. The buses take forever sometimes.

TTC - Ticket & Transportation Center it's where the monorail for both Epcot & MK are together. The bus from the resort will not take you to the TTC, it will take you to MK and then you have to get on the monorail and take it to either the TTC and walk to the Poly or just stay on it and get off at the Poly.

You can also take a taxi from POR, it's fast, easy and only takes about 5 mins and cost about $12.

LOL! TTC = Transportation & Ticket Center

You can go from POR to the Polynesian directly if you have a car but as master yoda said, your best bet is the shuttle bus from your resort to MK and then monorail to Polynesian.

Ticket and Transportation Center. For the most part this is the parking lot for MK. It also houses the main monorail station and the boat dock for the ferry. I am pretty sure that there is NOT a bus from PORS or any resort for that matter that goes to the TTC. All MK buses will drop you off at the front of the park. From there it is a short walk to the monorail station in front of MK. You will want to take the resort monorail not the express. It will drop you right in front of the Poly. From there walk through the doors and Kona Cafe will be on your left.

Oh! I understand now. :ROFLOL: I am still trying to keep up with all of you pros! Do I have to pay for the monerail or do resort guest ride free? And what do you think is the approximate time from POR to MK to POLY? In other words when should we leave POR for 9:20am ressies?

Nope. You don't have to pay. Monorails are part of the Disney Transportation System that you get to use as a resort guest.

As for time, I'm not sure about the leg on the bus from the resort to MK. I'd count on the stretch from MK to Poly on the Resort Monorail to be 1/2 an hour to be safe. When you board at MK it's going to make a stop at the Contemporary & TTC before you get to Poly. Plus, worst case if you wait 5-10 mins max for the monorail at the MK it could add up to a 20+ minute jaunt. I always estimate extra time so I'm not late. I hate to be late. If you're early go ahead and check in. I've checked in for dining ressies at various locations up to 45 minutes early and was seated earlier than my reservation time.

I'd set myself a drop-dead time of 8:15 to leave just in case anything unforseen comes up. If you get there early, trust me, there's lots to see and you can check at the podium early if you want.

We had Kona Cafe for breakfast on our last trip and thoroughly enjoyed it.

First of all, you don't need to be staying at a disney resort to use the monorail.

Second, do you really need reservations to eat at Kona Cafe?(for my own curiosity)
