Easter Egg in VOTLM??

Went to the Passholder preview last night. VOTLM was pretty empty (maybe one out of 6 or 7 clams were being used) so I asked at the ride exit if we could stay on. The CM signaled to someone up ahead, it looked like she was getting permission, she said yes, and we stayed in our clam. When we got to the ride beginning again, where Scuttle was setting up the ride with his narrative, he STOPPED and LOOKED at our clam and said "Hey - you look kinda familiar..."

??!!???!?!?!!!

Now, did I just miss this the first time?

Does he always say that?

If this was an Easter Egg, HOW do they do that???

Not having been on the ride, but having read about it, I am 99% certain he is referencing supposedly "seeing" you in the early part of the queue, not that you have been on more than once.

Dunno about Scuttle, but the Easter egg in this ride, if it's truly a DCA clone, would be Mr. Limpet in the Under the Sea scene. He's directly across from the dancing Ariel figure, so you'll need to look for him while you're still approaching Ariel. It's pretty cool!

Mr. Limpet? But...he's not a Disney character!

EDITED TO ADD: I did a Google search and...ohmigod! He's in the Little Mermaid MOVIE! I had no idea:

And he's in the ride too!

I know. It makes zero sense, like how they used to hide Elvis in the Christmas tree in DL's small world Holiday. Big old headshot of Elvis in the Christmas tree. Mr. Limpet even got a 3D figure! I've searched but can't find any reasoning or comment on his inclusion - just one of those fun things you have to know to look for. :)

I *think* the Mr. Limpet never made it to the MK version after the DCA one became so widely-known. Whichever company owns Mr. Limpet found out and... once is a joke, twice is copyright infringement.

Thanks for the answers, that seems obvious now, not having been through the queue again we forgot about him being in there. At the time it was pretty strange! My daughter and I had some fun with it, I think I won't tell her.

Our Easter Egg is the Nautilus in the Rocks in the Queue.
Also VOYAGE of the little Mermaid is at DHS.
Under the Sea: JOURNEY of the Little mermaid is at MK.

It's funny how those little things make it into these rides.

Also, I sort of always thought Mr. Limpet was a Disney movie. Perhaps it's because I always associate Don Knotts with Disney...either that or they used to show it back when Disney was a pay channel.

this is off topic, but for anyone who rode this in MK already - did they put a ceiling on the under the sea portion? in DCA, that part makes me so angry i want to like...argh, i dunno, pull the lights down in a rage! lol

I loved that movie! Now I have a new reason to ride the ride. Thanks!

Nope, its a WB movie and the Warner Animation people (ya know Bugs Bunny) did all the animation. No Disney involvement at all.

My favorite surprise is looking up while standing in line and seeing the fireworks going off overhead. I was surprised and impressed. Very impressed.

A company like TWDC would likely get permission first even for a joke. I'd be surprised if there wasn't an OK by Warner Brothers. Inside the industry, contacting each other is likely pretty easy for something like this. I'd be shocked if they did it without permission because I'd imagine legal would like to avoid dealing with an infringement dispute.
