Easter Basket Stuff

OMG, just love the Peep stuff. Some of those people are very clever.

I give my son peeps every year. He was about ten when he realized that I knew he didn't like them...but that I do and they're so cute!

Every year I say I should make one of those dioramas with a couple of my crazy friends - never seem to get around to it.

Easter baskets? You guys don't celebrate with chocolate eggs and chocolate bunnies like we do in the UK? I hear Americans don't have chocolate advent calendars at Christmas either

Well, we have to put the chocolate eggs and bunnies somewhere. It all goes into an Easter basket :) And yes, Advent calendars are widely available in the USA around Christmas.

Kelly, try proactiv. My son used it when he was younger and so have I in the past. If I gave up getting chocolate in this house, it would be WWlll!!!

LOL! I used that stuff for a while. It worked great for a few months then it was ineffective. When I called to "unsubscribe" they offered me a stronger, heavier-duty formula. That's when I took it to the dermatologist. Mainly I have to avoid the chocolate in large quantities because it messes with my blood sugar. If I drink sodas or eat candy the next few days my body will demand the spikes in sugar and I go down fast if I don't get it whereas it's usually a more gradual thing when I feel the weak, puny, need-to-eat feeling coming on. ;)

OH! Does anyone remember a few years ago when Hallmark had the plush Donald Duck dressed in a bunny outfit??? He does a song & dance and when you pick him up by the ears he yells in Donald-speak, "PUT ME DOWN!!!!! ((quackquackquackquack))" It's so adorable! I have that Donald somewhere...prob'ly in with everything else that we just moved out of storage into the big rental house (still moving). Darn, I should go look for him!

**edit**
Found a video on YouTube! Not mine but I have this!!!

I try to limit the sugary candy too. Just a couple things. They are all getting a puzzle, books and a Lego set in their baskets. My little one is getting Doc McStuffins and Lambie dolls instead of the Legos. I also lay out around 50-75 plastic eggs all over the house for them to hunt for. If our Disney trip was a little closer there would definitely be a bigger Disney love theme there.

Give in to the temptation!! LOL I used to be the same way. Then for a few years, my complexion looked good... then the wrinkles set in. It was a no win situation LOL

We invited our son's new GF to join us for Easter dinner. Just found out she has NEVER been to WDW, but has been to Universal once many years ago. So Easter will be a time to celebrate the holiday and educate the new GF about all things DIsney. Easter baskets will contain things other than candy, neither of them are big candy eaters. So maybe we will slip some other Disney items in there.

My daughter's Easter basket(s) have Wreck It Ralph Dvd, a Disney Princess fabric tote bag with matching crayon roll and coloring books, some Angry Birds puzzles, about 6 of those shrink wrapped wash rags in Disney Princess of course (we take them to the resort with us), a rather large solid chocolate Easter Bunny, a tootsie roll bank filled with tootsie rolls and lots of other small goodies. That is just from me and her Dad. She usually averages about 5 baskets by the time we are all said and done that morning and has over 100 eggs to find at my Mom and Dad's house and is the only one hunting!

Don't forget the Peeps!
Ugh, peeps. Haha. I know some love them but they taste like cardboard to me. Nasty. Every time we got them when I was young, my brothers and I would blow them up in the microwave. Exploding chicks! ;) Eventually mom realized we didn't eat them and only blew them up. She got tired of cleaning the mess. Can't imagine why... ;)

The Easter bunny still comes to my house (I am 24 and my brothers are 23 and 21 lol). He generally gives a gift card of some kind, a whole lot of Starburst jellybeans (the best kind), a chocolate bunny, and reeses/nestle eggs. When we were younger I'd get Disney themed items like markers or pens or something. And my brothers would get power rangers, ninja turtles, or batman haha.
