Easter 2008

Just got home from our trip and I'm already looking ahead to next year. We like to go in April, so how much the rooms are depends on what seasons take place in April, which depends on when Easter is. So, does anyone know what date Easter is next year?

We went later than normal this year, due to the date that our off year elections fell on this year, since I work in the election department at the courthouse. Normally we like to go around April 12, but this year we had to go the last week of April. I would like to tentatively set a date for next year, if someone could help me out on when Easter and everything is next year. Thanks!

I believe Easter is March 23rd. Early this year. We were there on Easter this year and had a blast.

I'd rather not be there on Easter week due to the crowds, as well as the higher prices, so if it's March 23 next year, that will work out perfectly. :sohappy:

Of course, there is so much that can happen in a year to change plans, but it doesn't hurt to have tentative plans in place. If we are blessed enough to be able to go again next year, it should also cost us less (unless we stay longer than we did this time) because we won't have to buy tickets. This year we bought 10 day parkhoppers with no expiration and we only used 5 days. So that means we have prepaid 5 day parkhoppers for next year. And the total price for those tickets this year came up to around 830 bucks or so, which means that there is 830 bucks less that we would be spending for next year's vacation!

Just one question...can you get the dining plan without purchasing tickets?

Last year, for our April 2007 trip, I booked our rooms a year in advance to insure that they didn't book up by the time 2007 prices rolled around. Should I do that again this year for a trip next April? Or would I be safe to wait until 2008 prices come out, presumably in August?

And we're still undecided on whether to take our son with us, who just turned 1 yesterday. Do they need to know whether he will be with us, since children under three get into the room and the parks for free anyway?

There's really no disadvantage to booking in advance if you know precisely when you want to go.

They don't need to know that your son is with you. Call your resort a week or two before arrival and they should have a pack play ready in your room on check in day. If they don't just call after you check in and they'll run one up (not a big deal). BTW, I vote for taking your son. I took my son and my daugther when they were 18 months old and they both had a blast. You wind up doing different things, but looking at WDW through your kids' eyes when they are that age is a memorable experience.
