I think Earthquake may be one of the most underrated attractions at USF. The amount of detail that is in this ride is amazing. To really appriciate it sit in the very front (when you enter the room where you board go all the way to your left) If you sit here after the Earthquake happens you get to see everything reset. The amount of water that is put threw this attraction is probley simmilar to Cautastrophe Canyon. I think this ride is highly underrated and should be given another shot by everyone.

Also agreed.

As for both, I really hate having to do the back lot tour for the canyon.... or sit through that horrid preshow for earthquake.

As for earthquake, it was on TV last night. It was AWFUL. They mostly shook the camera to simulate the earthquake!

I agree...CC was a great "show" but hated the pre-show. The Earthquake "show' is cool. How many times have you seen the movie? Hell...I saw it the theater with "Sensesurround". Who remembers that?

Earthquake always gets a bad rap because of the preshows. The longer people have to sit through lines and silly preshows, the higher their expectations get.

Here's what they should do instead...
- Take the preshow rooms and build another load station. The ride only has one vehicle, so there is a lot of time wasted during the course of the ride. With this new setup, one train could be loading/unloading while the other is in the show
- Lengthen the show a bit. Another couple of minutes of shaking and sparks and darkness would be cool
- Ditch that cheesy tent and build a good queueing line that snakes through a city that was hit by an Earthquake. TVs in the queue could explain how the effects were done, thus combining the preshows into an entertaining and air-conditioned queue.

Yeah, I'm not really a huge fan of Earthquake's preshow. It's too long. I like the second room, where they show you a set of an earthquake-damaged city. Last time I went to USF, though, I asked a ride operator if I could skip to the ride portion, and she let me. She told me, that to skip to it, what you have to do, is go to the right of the Earthquake entrance, past the room where they take your pictures and put it on another person's body, and into an upward ramp. You'll see four doors in front of you that say "Do Not Enter." On the left wall, just in front of those four doors, are two doors that say "Loading Station." If you go in there, and tell the operator that somebody let you skip to the ride, they'll let you in. That's a way to skip to the ride if anybody ever wants to. You just have to make sure that the tram is in the station when you walk in.

The ride is great, but as others have said, the pre-show has got to go.

I mean, blue-screen may have been a mystery twenty-five years ago, but the concepts presented in the Earthquake show were relatively outdated when USF opened, let alone fifteen years later.

I rarely go on just because I find the pre-show so boring I'd rather spend the time going on Jaws a couple of times or doing the single-rider line at MIB.
