Early soft opening for M:S?

I heard on the other board I frequent IOAcentral.com that M:S will have a soft opening starting on the 23rd of june, and that he heard it here.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did more guest testing then, but I doubt a full fledged opening will be in order

Mission: SPACE has begun cast member testing this week and is said to begin a full soft opening for all guests starting June 23rd! This is well ahead of the August 15th date that Disney has been throwing around. If you happen to be in Epcot around then, check out that huge building with planets around it to see if you can ride. It won't be on the park maps yet though. Just go straight past Spaceship Earth, hang a right and go straight for a little bit and you should see it. I wish you all the best of luck riding it! A word of warning, do NOT look to the right or left when riding! Look straight ahead at the screen. Mission: SPACE can cause motion sickness to the extreme!

Indeed, cast members who have already ridden the ride told everyone that guest testing would begin the 23rd, and maybe even a little earlier. These are probably limited soft openings with it opening early in the morning, then closing, then opening toward the night again. As of now though, the chances of catching a ride after the 23rd seem pretty good. I wish you luck!

I wouldn't call it limited soft openings, but rather, Guinea Pigs testing out the ride as WDI continues to fine tune it

I see that they have all of their facts straight. Um, "hang a right"? I think that by the time people get on the "Living With the Land" boat ride, they'll realize that it's not Mission:Space..... :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I remeber us saying that all the cast members should all trained by june 23 in one of the old m:s forums and that it is possible of a late july opening but not a soft opening in june

If they where to open july 4th it would only be for that day most likely because it is a holiday.

There will some accidental ride testing with randomly choosen guests..
But the soft opening date is set to august 15 2003, and even that could be wishfull thinking...
It still could be set to a later date, but not earlier

The only date that's really for shure is October XX 2003

i realize that NOTHING can be certain... but do you really believe that this ride could be going later rather than earlier- even with all the great recent news??

[i.e. August 1-3 passholder previews,(info from this site) august 15th opening,(info still on the official disney site) and official opening of october 9th (disney annouced this as the official opening date)] IMO we can only be moving earlier rather than later.

lol very true, but wasnt it a known fact that test track had many problems and was no-way-in-heck going to open on the origional planned opening date? like what i'm saying is, there were never cm previews a few weeks before the origionally scheduled opening date correct? -cm previews were what, years behind schedule lol?? i really think its safe to say things are looking much better than TT.

i have just been on ioacentral.com and i have been told that they got the mission space soft opening date as the 23rd of june from here.
but i cant seem to find anything anyone know.

the soft opening date yes. My guess would be the guest testing is strictly to get Mission: Space to 100% operational, up from the 50% it's at right now
