Early Entry??

I disagree. The room prices have gone up from last year already. I'm a AP holder but i'm paying almost full price for rooms for next week. (i know it is spring break). I got a better deal for June!

BTW, the last reason i want to go into a park early is to see characters. I want in early to ride the E-ticket rides before the lines get long!!!!

And i doubt very seriously i get up an hour early to go see characters in my hotel lobby, besides there are only a few characters and you dont know who they will be.

So i disagree with niteobsrvr.

I disagree also. I am paying full price for my room.
I also realize that Disney is a huge business. But to keep Disney from becoming just another huge business, I think it is important to keep the perks. Those characters in the park, the courtesy of the CM's, the cleanliness of the parks, as well as EE all add up the fun a guest can experience.
If it is just a financial reason, then let's do away with mouskeeping. I know how to make up a bed and clean a room. And while we are at it, I can cook, so just leave the shelves stocked, I will pay for the food and prepare it myself. And rides? Well, let's just let the guests operate the rides, and save on the money.
Yeah, I know those are silly examples, but if more and more of the Disney uniqueness is lost, then it is just another theme park, and that is something Walt would have never wanted.

Hmm I think my reply got lost.. hope it doesnt show up somewhere else. :)

I was originally paying full price for my room until I happen to stumble across a discount. I had no idea about them. My coworker just went down for full price TWICE in the last 6 months. My sister is going that way too. she didn't know about discounts.

The early days was a benefit and perk to staying on-site. To me it was the most important one. That was part of the magic of staying there.

These perks set Disney apart.

Anyway, I sent them my dissapointment. My travel partner for this coming trip was wanting to cancel the reservations. This was OUR main reason to stay in the disney resorts and now it's gone. I'm just crossing my fingers that they return the EE.. (wishful thinking, I'd bet).

People shouldn't stay off site just because EE is gone. The Disney hotels are the best things you can get anywhere in the area. Even without EE the price is well worth it.

I will not stay offsite just because EE is gone. I am disappointed that it is gone, but I would stay on Disney probably just for the transportation. There are still a lot of great things about staying on-site, I just hope that they don't start disappearing one by one. Once they are gone, they won't be back, much like EE. i"m afraid.

EE may come back sometime, I wouldnt totally write it off. I agree there is much more to staying on property then just EE. If your really upset about it being gone ..you know that envelope in your room? .. fill it out and send it in telling how disappointed you are that its gone. I dont think we used EE more then 3 times in 12 years ..it didnt take us long to figure out the park to avoid was the one where they had EE.

36 days :)

I did send Disney an e-mail about the loss of EE and got a friendly response about the Character Caravan, but no mention was made about EE.

We used EE every day. Whatever park opened early, that was the park we went to.

I think most people are willing to pay full price to go to Disney if they think they are getting good value for all that money. To me, good value means convenience (why it is worth it to pay more to stay inside the park, and on a monorail line), high standards of cleanliness and safety and efficiency, great service, that extra "Disney touch." It might mean Early Entry, or a Mousekeeper leaving a towel animal on the bed. Even if I didn't use the perks all the time, things like free valet parking at resorts, free parking at the parks for resort guests, delivery of packages to the hotel (room!), early entry, advance priority seating all add up to the whole Disney experience. People like to know they are entitled to things even if they don't use all of them, which is why they load their Disney packages with stuff most of us probably don't take advantage of. If they cut all the perks, cut the park hours, and lower standards of cleanliness, etc. then the experience will not be the same, and I won't go at all.

Disney is famous for their spectacular service, and when that begins to fade then they'll be in trouble-- because no amount of discounting will make up for it.
