i RECENNTLY read that EE has been CANCELLED!!! UUGGH!!! We heavily rely on this. Is there a possibilty it will return for peak times, since that is when I'll be there, over Easter break, and we LITERALLY wait in no lines at this time thanks to EE, and the parks being open late.
HELP!!!!

No word (yet) on its return, but i dont think you will really mind. Even WITH early entry, a lot of the park remained closed until the usual opening time.

Plus it seemed most of the Non-Disney guidebooks told people to avoid Early Entry, as well of most Disney information newsgroups and such.

I prefer E-Ride Nights to Early Entry...just wish they would hurry up and decide if they are going to have em in February...on the monday of the week I go, the park is conspicuously open until 9, whereas it's open till eight tuesday-friday...hoping that might be an E-Ride Night from 9-12....

Early Entry was a jewel...at least to me. I could take all of the Fantasyland attractions, that usually have 70 minute waits in the afternoon, and enjoy each with no line...same for Tomorrowland. Then, I could visit Adventureland, CoP, Liberty Square, and Frontierland...and leave by 2:00! It will be missed by our house...

Yes, but people on vacation won't wake up earlier in the morning, and since a lot of Disney's guests are people who not only want to have fun, but also rest, they choose not to do an exhausting plan so they can have both.

That's what TTA is for!

But seriously, many many people have taken advantage of Early Entry because they'd rather enjoy their visit at WDW and then rest maybe mid-day...etc...but it doesn't matter for those who WANT to sleep...they just miss out on Early Entry! ;)

no matter which group you are in, I don't see the Character Caravan doing much--the people who want to sleep-in sleep through it and the people who went to the Early Entry Mornings didn't go there to see characters anyway...I just want disney to return the parks to their normal hours (9-9 for Epcot and 8-6 for Animal Kingdom)...is attendance where it should be this time of year?

The guidebooks told Non-resort guests to avoid specific parks on EE days, because when the parks opened to the general public, they were already FULL of resort guests!

Speak for yourself Luau Cove. Early Entry was absolute heaven for a family with children. Yes we have to use the alarm clock but getting the kids on all the rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland without any wait, then going back for naps/pool time at noon, and returning in the pm to the parks was awesome. :)

I can totally see why EE would be advantageous to anyone with kids (kids are usually up early anyway), and thats probobly the only plus side I an see to them keeping it.

I being an older kid (22) find it not to be worth my personal time to be up that early when the majority of the stuff I want to ride isnt even open yet...

I do hope, however, that they bring EE back only because its one of the little "perks" that helped bring people to stay on property..

The best part of my last trip (Aug 2001) was on our first morning there. Due to jetlag, we were awake at 5.00am, and stood outside MK at 7.15am waiting for it to open.

By 9.30 we had done all the rides that we normally wait over an hour for.

Dumbo (twice)
Winnie
Peter Pan
Snow White
and many others

For my two girls (4 & 6) this was pure heaven. As we sat on Main Street eating our bake shop delights at 10.00am we were one happy bunch!!!!!

We've always made the most of Early entry and although we have found them useful in avoiding a couple of lines. However I don't think we ever considered them when making a choice to stay on property.

I found early entry great to get in a few rides before the interpreters started doing the shows. That way I got shows and rides and not just shows. For us that use interpreters it takes longer to do the parks if we like shows because we need to go by a schedule. Therefore 1 day per park for shows and 1 day for riding without EE.

EE

Regarding early entry. I'm planning a big trip (i live like two hours away so i go for alot of weekends, but i'm planning a week for my birthday...yep..getting old) and will be staying at the Contemporary. When i received my confirmation in the mail the other day, there came with it a notice regarding EE. It said that most guests at the resorts did not care for or use that perk, but that many guests reported that they would like more time with their favourite characters. The announcement made it sound like they would have TONS of characters in central locations (monorail/bus boarding areas, dining areas) to see the guests off as they start their day.

Personally, i don't believe it. I have a hard time swallowing that guests would much rather see the characters than get into the parks early, but as i have no children i don't how little kids might feel.

I personally could care less about the characters. Although I have 3 kids, I can do the Character thing @ the Character Breakfasts/dinners, w/o wasting time on all those "meet & greet" lines. I take full advantage of EE, and ride all the Super Headliners way before the Gen. Public enters. I did call down there today, and they said they MAY bring it back during Peak times. I hope so, because that;s when I'm going, and hence when you really need it.

exact words

For those of you who want all the details, here's the exact wording of the announcement regarding early entry.

FRONT:

Something's changing in a hurry...Something's changing and it's furry!

BACK:

We've added a little Character to your Resort stay...

There's a brand-new benefit for you when you stay in a selected Walt Disney World Resort Hotel...special visits by Disney Characters! On selected morning, you and your family will find Disney friends right at your Resort, waiting to send you off to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Water Parks with a smile!

...now that early Theme Park entrance has gone away

Many o four Guests chose no to take advantage of our Surprise Mornings (early Disney Theme Park entrance) program. They told us they wanted more of the Disney Characters. We took it as a wake-up call. So we've replaced Surprise Mornings with a new kind of magic - now the friends you've come to love are coming to you!

See inside for a list of additional Disney Resort Guest Benefits.

Selected Disney Characters appear at participating Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Subject to change without notice.

That's it...word for word (spelling errors not included!) :hammer:

There was no "inside" to see...no additional brochure or anything describing guest benefits...that may come after the deposit goes through though.

Looks like it won't even be all the resorts that get this "perk"
