Well, the name change on the Earful Tower had to come sooner or later, I'm excited to see how it looks if it did indeed happen all ready.

About the Sorcerer Hat decorating for the Earful Tower, does this old park map answer your question?

The good ole days before that ugly giant hat landed in front of the Chinese Theater and blighted up Hollywood Blvd!

I remember that. It took you into several rooms on a walking tour to see the behind the scenes of 101 Dalmations (the live action version).

It also took you into a room where they took somebody and put them on a bicycle in front of a bluescreen and act out a scene from 101 Dalmations (they used to use that room to recreate the flying bee scene from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids).

I think those building were eventually taken up by attractions such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Play It! and other behind the scenes attractions, like Journey into Narnia.

The tower was one of my favorite Landmarks at the studios. I especially love it with the Santa Hat.

It was a display of sets and props from the live action 101 Dalmations.

Wow! I never realized big the Backlot Tour used to be!!! The first time I went on in was in 2003. Now I 100% get it...Wow....

The Backlot Tour was awesome back in the day. I remember they would drive past some TV Houses like the house from Golden Girls and Empty Nest lol

When I saw the Sorcerer Mickey design on the Earffel Tower whilst skim-reading, I almost had a heart-attack because I misread it for being the new design for the Earffel Tower in DHS! :lol:

Alright, I was back at the park today and the Tower has been painted over with white (primer?) to cover the old name and prepare it for the new coat it will be getting. There were guys up there as I was leaving, not sure if they were still working on covering the old, or beginning the new.

I'm not sure what I must've seen yesterday, maybe they had plans up on the one side as to what they were going to do? I can't think of any other reason why I would've seen the new font and Mickey inside the "O" up there.

Wow---thanks for all of the earful tower pics---now I know I wasn't making things up! The santa is cool, but I really really love the sorcerer. The map you showed is cool too----Doug Live, Mulan Parade, a full backlot tour, and the hunchback----man what happened to MGM?

Drove past last night and both sides are primered with no logo. I'm sure they'll be painting like madmen on New Years eve night.
