DW on New Years Eve?

Does anyone know what all the parks do on New Years Eve? I'm looking at the park hours now, and it's saying nothing special is going on…. I can't believe that  Magic Kingdom is closing right at 12, Hollywood Studios at 2, Epcot at 1, and Animal Kingdom at 7.

Has anyone been there on New Years Eve? Are there any special fireworks or parades in any of the parks? Thanks!

We were going to go to DHS, but now my family wants to change our reservations to 12/1-12/9, so now I'm not even going to be there on NYE…. lol :(
LOL...I wish my family wanted to change our dates to the first week of December, but with all of our different work schedules it isn't possible. I have been the week after Thanksgiving and the week after NYE and those are two of my favorite times to go everything is decorated and the weather is amazing, plus you get the added bonus of fewer people in the parks!!!

I'm really excited now! We booked everything last night. We won't be able to eat dinner at Be Our Guest because it's already passed the 180th day :( but they have quick service for lunch, so that's good.

I have to do ADRS sunday morning, but this morning I was up at 5 (Louisiana time) so I tried for the date that was 180 out from today and it was booked up. I was hoping that we would be able to get in, but I really don't think that we will. If not its ok cause this won't be our last trip so I will just keep trying for future trips.

Wow, that's crazy! Well don't forget you can go for lunch from 10:30am to 2:30pm. That's what we are doing.

True! I was actually wondering if it's cold at that time and what kind of clothes to wear?

Well in true Florida fashion it can vary. It could be up in the 70s and possibly 80s and could get down into the 50s or so. The nice thing, though, is the humidity is not nearly as bad as in the summer, and essentially that's what's unbearable in the summer.

When we went I was in capris and I wore a sweater one day and the rest of the days I was in a short sleeve shirt and my jacket if the temps went down.

Every time that I have gone to Disney in December I wear a light long sleeve shirt and jeans and bring a jacket for when the sunsets. I'm from Louisiana so to me a jacket is required when it is 50 outside, but I have seen people in tank tops and capris because they are from cooler regions of the world.

This helped so much! I'll think about going to DHS. Thank you! :)
Well I was going to tell you that our local High School Band will be at DHS on NYE so that would be another 90 kids you will have to dodge around at the parks but I see that you have changed your plans....

We are also going to be there on the week after Thanksgiving. Sounds like that week may be more crowed than in the past but I'll take a busy week at Disney than a week at home in the cold. :)

Thanks guys! I wasn't quite sure, and I had been wondering about that for a while. Now I know what to pack! :)

Oh wow, glad I won't be there… :D

Why is it going to be more crowded than in the past? And yes, I'd rather be at Disney too! :)

When I go on Disney's website and play around to see what's available that week there isn't much left except preferred rooms at deluxe resorts. I could be wrong but the info I plug in doesn't give me very many options.

I did this too to see if my brother could book a room with his wife (they are currently stationed in South Korea) to surprise my mom and dad for their anniversary on NYE and it showed no availability for 12/27-1/1 at POR, but when I spoke with a CM this morning to pay on our reservation I asked if there were any open rooms and she said " there are a few preferred rooms left and quite a few regular rooms." I found it kind of odd that online it was completely booked but they still had rooms, maybe they do that to cut down on over booking.
