Dumb guests doing dumb things.....

I saw this a few weeks ago for the PeopleMover. A woman joined the line behind us. Every so often I saw her unhook a chain and someone joined her. This happened a couple of times until she had 20 people with her. As soon as she was going to go through the turnstile, the CM had her (and her entourage) move aside. They weren't allowed on.
On the PeopleMover? Wow. As long as there are no stoppages, even longer lines get eaten up quickly by the constant availability of ride vehicles. Sounds like a complete lack of patience on the part of those line jumpers.

Stupidity in general amazes me. Not in Disney but when my dad was young his dad threw him in the river Mersey (if anyone from UK knows it) to try teach him to swim. Needless to say it didn’t work, he’s now 60 years old and terrified of water still. We managed to get him into a pool at Disney last year and he was in 4ft water and wouldn’t let go of the sides, he’s 6’3 for reference...
See similar things in pools with parents throwing kids into the deep end to ‘face their fear’.

The dumb idea to climb Mexico's Pyramid..

We now have this sign due to that reason...

It's why we can't have nice things

And this how it should always happen. A lot of people don't think CMs should step in like this but I think this should be standard practice. Ignoring bad behavior just encourages worse behavior.

I bigtime enjoy drinks around WS, but it does bug me when people do it too much to the point where they ruin the magic for others. Cursing loudly, bumping into people and such. You can enjoy yourself without ruining enjoyment for others.

There's different levels of drinking. Collegiate levels of drinking have no place at WDW. Too much walking, too hot and why ruin it for everyone else.

I was never sure exactly what to do when I worked at Busch Gardens and some blatant line cutters would try and infiltrate my line- do I tell the guy to get back in line, let the people in line handle telling the person off, or just serve the person? (if it seemed their reasoning was more lack of awareness than being a self serving jerk)

That's not necessary true, I'm young and don't have any social media, and really only use my phone to check out this site and a few other Disney/universal fan sites.

Fahrenheit 451 is a really powerful read, specially in this current era. But let me note that technologies like phones are not bad, in many cases they allow mass quantities of individuals to inform themselves about current problems our society is facing, possible solutions, and what they can to help as well as connect to other people we otherwise couldn't.

I am a high school teacher and have been for 25 years. Cell phones are hugely significant deterrents to learning right now. Not only do phones too often detract students from what they should be doing in class, but they also inhibit development of basic social skills that would normally come from face-to-face interactions. And nothing aggravates me much more than park guests who have no idea where they are walking because they have their faces glued to their phones. You make an excellent point. Some young people make very good, mature decisions about when and how they use their phones. Phones are actually learning tools, in some cases. In terms of the big picture, however, the average student would be much better off without a cell phone, both socially and from an educational perspective..

A group of guys behind us in line for RRC had some friends way up ahead. One takes off and climbs the wall to meet them at the part before you go in the building. The others were about to go when I turned around and told them that if they tried to climb that wall, that I was going to pull them down and beat their . A couple other guys around us joined in and said they’d help. We received a small round of applause from the people around us and they guys stayed put. I was fed up with the line jumpers that day and those poor guys just happened to be be there acting stupid when I reached my limit.

Back when I was an EPCOT CM the parking team always said the first things guests did after parking their cars was put their brain in the glovebox for safe keeping. Some of the stories they would tell would blow my mind. Usually just people not paying attention and getting or almost getting clipped by cars, trams, buses. The stupidest thing I personally saw was a mom who handed her daughter (probably 12) her half finished beer to chug when I told her she couldn't take it out of the park. I got security's attention just in time for them to witness it too. Pretty sure that lady spent at least the night in jail...

I think the worst thing I've been experiencing since going to DLP lately is the queue situation. Many people like to slide past you in line, it's very common to see the old "the other part of our family is just right up there".

For parades a lot of people will try and just move right in front of you into your spot, even had someone ask me to move out of the way so they could see..

But for the most part I think DLP just has it's "quirks", I'm guessing most of it is cultural differences? (I'd like to hope so)

When I was at WDW in June waiting in line at Soarin', a lady was line jumping. The first time, we all bought the "my family's up there" comment. She even got away with it the second time. On the third attempt, a lady behind us went totally berserk and told her off saying that she seen her pass more than once and she was not having it. The line jumper had the grace to look guilty and turn back around. We all clapped because we were not that far from where they send you to the different concourses, so who knows where she was taking those people and I could not help but wonder why the CM kept letting her get through.

I found out a long time ago people that have nothing better to do than complain about other people really should look into a mirror. I know nobody that is perfect.
