I hate to be so blunt, but what did they expect? A construction project as large as Disney Springs is going to cause some headaches. About the only legitimate gripe is the one by Paradiso 37, but if their business model was dependent on another business existing, they were fools not to have an exit in their lease.

As a former manager at an AMC that was located in a mall...I can say its all talk. The company always threatens to leave to get something they want..be it a rent discount, or permission to operate at longer hours. They are well aware that once the garage is finished, they will be bringing in more money...but they are probably trying to get a "rent break" while the construction continues.

They should. This garage is something that should have happened long ago.

They expected it to be announced early January and have the 1st multi-storey car park open for the Xmas holidays. This isn't rocket science you know have the least inconvenience as possible AKA build it as quickly as possible.

"Expected" or "have it in writing". If they have it is writing then they should also have legal recourse in said writing. If they assumed it would be done... well they should know better. Even minor construction projects experience delays.

Expected based on other inner city shopping centre projects. I know of two British companies who thought it would of been good, didn't sign anything, Disney expected them to stay around. They had a couple of briefs about construction timetable when their stores would be opening - and at last I heard they walked right away from Disney Springs concept entirely.

Not to worry--any open storefronts will simply be filled in with a Starbucks come 2016. Problem solved.

So AMC assumed something incorrectly and now it is Disney's fault? Bottom line, if they wanted it done in a certain timetable you get it in writing.

Is it Disneys fault they didn't announce and break ground earlier? Yes. Is it Disneys fault that they spread investment over as many years as possible instead of just get on with it? Yes. Is it Disneys fault they have a one mess of a parking system for the holidays? YES.

AMC probably like the two British companies I have mentioned wanted Disney to act like you know quickly, like any inner city redevelopment companies act, well at least in the UK.

Doe AMC have a guaranteed time table in writing? No. Case closed.

Do they even have that? Did Disney promise any firm deadline on the parking structure completion?

For some companies they wanted in that would be not only exclusive orlando, not only exclusive Florida but exclusive only US stores for a few years. Yes they absolutely did way more to non-NA companies. Absolutely.

What are you talking about? We are not talking about other companies. We are talking about AMC Theaters at DTD. Did they promise a completion date for the parking garage or not? If they did, when was it?
