if you drive I-20 to I-75 have you taken the cut off called camp creek parkway (i think). is it shorter timewise? are there any other shortcuts that are better? we are planning on dec. 18 about 4-5 pm. i know its crazy, rush hour in atlanta on the fri. before Christmas week but it is the earliest we can leave and our Disney tickets start 19th. any info on how easy it is compared to going straight I-20 to I-75 greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Coming from Alabama you're probably better off taking I-20 to I-285 south and taking I-285 to I-75. Getting off on 285 avoids going right into downtown ATL, traffic on 285 will still be heavy but it shouldn't be as bad.

That sounds right to me. I don't know the specific exit being asked about, but I never go through the city unless it's at night.

I can't help you with that, since I drive from north of Atlanta. And by the way, I never take the bypass, I drive the car pool lane. But when you get to Macon, take the bypass around Macon. It cuts out about 16 miles.
