Dress code

What is ironic, is that while some people should maybe wear more cloths at the parks, when at the pool or water parks, some people wear too much. Lots of men don't seem to want to invest in an actual bathing suit, but sorry, I don't want to see your shorts and know your hopping into the pool in the underwear you have been sweating in all day. Your tshirt is not a swim shirt either. At a different local park I recently saw someone get into the lazy river wearing cotton socks...socks!

I'm a huge fan of actual swim shirts these days. Massively cuts down on sunscreen needs.

Restaurants have dress codes i.e. JIKO restaurant
The restaurant is a bit more upscale than many Disney table service restaurants. Because of this, there is a dress code. With the dress code, men should wear slacks, jeans, khakis, or dress shorts with collared shirts. Women should wear skirts, dresses, jeans, capri pants, dress pants or dress shorts.May 20, 2022

Went for our anniversary in 2019 dress code does not seem to be enforced family came in looked like they just came from the pool -- rules are only as good as they are enforced

Not directing this at anyone but it’s sad looking at how people used to dress so nice to go to the parks and now… let’s just say it’s a downgrade.

My honest opinion is in a family park sports bras, bikini tops should be covered. But thats just my opinion, then again I think people should dress better everywhere including the grocery store and especially airports. People used to try and look nice when they went places, now everyone looks like they are at the gym, or the beach.

I have seen the evolution or devolution of dress from the beginning of WDW and it certainly has changed but then again that is all of todays society

I think you guys are being a tad dramatic about athleisure wear and the downfall of society.

I myself wear sundresses/skirts/shorts in the park and I saw a LOT of other women (and maybe men, who knows!) wearing pretty sundresses/skirts/tops/shorts in the parks.
And those in the athleisure category always looked well put together. Obviously there are always exceptions to the rule.

Sure, some people looked a bit disheveled in their t-shirts/cargo shorts, but it's hot and no one looks great after a day in the heat. I look a mess after a day in the humidity too.

@dreday3 is a woman, @ToTBellHop is a man, all of my preconceived notions are collapsing in one week. Next you're going to tell me that @Dear Prudence is a Republican.

It's my opinion that a lot of people simply no longer care about their own personal appearances.

I blame Madonna. 🤣
Some of you need to get with the times. Comfort over out of date fashion. That said there are crop tops and sports bras that are OK and those that aren't. I'd post pictures but I'd get banned from here. Yet you wonder why you can't wear them to the park.

Have you noticed the way people go to church (the ones that still do) these days? I do wear NICE jeans and CLEAN sneakers, but you can always tell the regulars from the “cafeteria Catholics”…I realize that they are grateful for ANYONE to attend, but I draw the line at ripped jeans, ratty t shirts, flip flops and chewing gum like a prized 4H entrant…

The notion that society was somehow better in the past is tired. What’s also tired is the association of better, more civilized society with dressing well. Folks decades ago dressed very nicely, yes, but they were messed up in so many ways. There’s no connection.
