Dream Squad

In April 07 we took our nephew to Disney for the weekend to celebrate his 10th birthday. He wanted to ride TT. The wait was around 90 minutes. He has ADHD and sometimes waiting is a challenge for him. We decided that since it was his birthday trip, we'd wait, even though our stay was so short. Once we got to the front they were counting people to go in and he got really excited....we're next! Well, they held us back and let others go in which totally bummed him out.:( The next group in was given YOAMD lanyards with a pin. :D You should have seen the look on his face.....priceless.......

Not from YOAMD but a Disney Artist gave me a "dream" once in 1998

He was the artist that evening at Epcots Disney art store and he had a small crowd about him. He was drawing Pooh at the time and I think I was boasting a bit about my drawing and stuff (a bit odd for me, I wasnt the kinda kid to really brag much but I think I just wanted to show the artist I had skill) so he said "Okay then show me" and I was so surprised but kinda delighted.

I drew a Mickey Mouse with this little crowd oohing and ahhing a bit. The artist at the end said he thought my Mickey was great and gave me the pooh drawing he did for free!

Out of all the things I've experienced at Disney. I never forget that experience.

Last year, my wife and I traded pins with three members of the Dream Squad. At the time I didn't realize who they were, but it struck me a few days later. They were very nice and seemed to thoroughly enjoy stopping and talking to people, even if they weren't giving anything away. I love reading about everyone else's experiences!! Does anyone have any pictures of any Dream Squad members?

Sure. This is David Storm, the Dream Squad member who arranged all of the particulars for SW2K:

I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE reading this thread!!!! I'm arriving in a few days it just makes me SO excited!!!!! It would be so cool to win something but I would be thrilled to just SEE the dream squad!
*and by the way Locheed (sp?) I'm pretty sure I get SW2K now (snow white 2000) and I just wanted to say that I read the article written about your family and was dearly touched not only is WDW an important magical part of my life but so is the world of autism...I am in currently in college studying to be an autism specialist and every child I've been lucky enough to work with has brought me such joy, knowledge, and insight into life! I believe people with friends and family that have autism truly know what magical moments are!

We have been next to people that have been chosen for a "Dream" twice.:sohappy: Even though we did not get chosen, it is so thrilling to watch. It really does add quite a bit of magic to the Disney experience. I hope it stay on is some scaled down form or another even after TYOMD is over.

Been to WDW 6 times during the Years of a Million Dreams, never seen a dream squad member. I look for them - I'd be happy to see anyone win anything :)

But I've never seen em'! Never seen any dream given away. But that's not to say I haven't had my own magic moments in WDW. Getting engaged there was amazing, and having our engagement trip there was great too. There were little pixie dust moments during dining, and waiting in lines, etc. Nothing major, nothing from the dream squad, but still wonderful!

I've never won anything...and I think given a choice, I'd like to see something special happen for my daughter, as she's 2 now, and I'd probably break down if any of these stories happened.

2 years ago, it seemed as if the dream squad was following my brother-in-law and his wife around, as they were winning ears or dream fastpasses every day of our family trip. The minute the group would decide to break up they'd win something.

I guess being at WDW with my family is dream enough for me :)

I got major geek cred with Jim Hill last week, when he started telling the SW2K story, and I said "Oh, Ben, right? Yeah, I've been on Snow White with him."

Well heck, I've never talked to Jim Hill personally. So I guess you get major geek cred from me on that count....:)

Looks like Ben has discovered water slides in a big way, so his Snow White count might be slowing down as he spends more time at Blizzard Beach this summer. Which is way cool, I am very excited to see him doing more physical kinds of activities.

On Valentine's Day of this year, I was getting off the railroad on Main Street and as I was coming down the stairs closest to City Hall there was a dream squad member handing out dream FPs. It took me by surprise at first but when he handed minde to me a big sliiy grin spread across my face. I was so thrilled.
