Dream Job

I'm a retired nurse practitioner so ummm I know I don't want to do that anymore even tho they do have at least one on staff (I saw the opening listed a couple years ago) lol. I could handle being the nurse at the baby care center tho but honestly I think it would be a little boring. But if I was totally out of my profession I think I'd want to work on the boats that go between the resorts and mk. Everyone is always happy to see you and even in the August heat and humidity as long as the boat is moving it's not unbearable. My family says I'm a big enough of a smart that I could probably qualify as a jungle cruise captain lol. Do you think they'd pay me to be like a secret shopper? I could go to the parks, stay at the resorts, go to meals/events/shop etc...and report on the experience...for quality assurance purposes of course.

I'm a retired nurse, too. But I wouldn't want to be stuck in one of the first aid centers every day. I'm also a very avid gardener, so being on the landscaping staff in one of the parks ( preferably Epcot) would be great. Being one of the landscape/ garden designers would be wonderful.

I'd choose Back of house as a creative / mechanical engineer. I'd be the guy making the parts for the new rides and shows and the guy they call when something breaks and needs a creative solution to fix it.[/QUOTE]

Well that's kinda what I do now. Very stressful when those calls/emails come in. I am getting close to retiring. I just want to be the guy the yells ALL BOOOAARD!

If you had a chance to do it all over again and start a new job at Walt Disney World.....what would you love to do?

For me I'd love to be a Firefighter for the Reedy Creek Fire Dept. Yes they technically aren't Disney employees but still.

Also I'd love to be and Engineer on the WDW steam engine. Always thought that was cool!

Im a former cm, i knew a few of them, really cool people and it definitely is probably the best job in the parks and yes, it is a real steam train however it is considered an attraction so they only make .35 cents more than regular attractions cms. Its definitely a great retirement or part time job, it just sucks you cant live off of the wages at disney or else id still be a cm. Still pretty cool though

I had a job like that for about three days. I called it being a "Disney spy". I worked with two other girls and I guess they didn't think too much of me, because the boss called me in and said, "We can tell early when an employee is not going to work out." To this day, I still don't know what I did wrong. But it set the tone for my life. Starting out in the working world, I kept getting fired just a couple of days or even one day into the job. Finally, I got a data entry job that lasted about two years until the branch closed, then I got another data entry job that lasted 14 years until they ran out of data entry to do. After that, it was like my early days. Getting fired all the time. Very depressing. Then my psychiatrist told me to file for disability, so I did. It was either that or kill myself.

I'm surprised no one mentioned being an Imagineer. I have plenty of imagination, but no engineering skills. So I'd have to start over and take some engineering classes. I have lots of ideas for rides, attractions, and general upkeep in the parks. But no one will listen to me since they don't accept outside ideas from strangers anymore. So, instead, I'm writing these ideas into some stories about a fictional theme park resort.

In case you're wondering, I'm a happy person today.

Realistically, I would be working in Disney IT, architecture things like MM+. Ideally, I'd be working with the animals on the safari

It always amazes me how the CMs just walk along the safari. I know they are trained but I would be scared. I know they have hidden fences and sinkholes but still.

I like to pop popcorn !!! Or I could go to Morocco and give "Mo" a run for her money. ( as seen on my avatar) I am good at 'working' a crowd, they say I am lots of fun. - but I realize that since I am "super-sized" - well, I am not everybody's cup of tea.

I'd love to be the evil queen or maybe even cruella but 1 I'm turning 50 soon so they probably wouldn't have me and 2 as much as I adore the evil queen I'd probably die of heat stroke in the costume lol so I guess I'll stick to being a villain in cooler temps.

My husband thinks I should work with Guest Relations / Concierge stuff. He doesn't realize that I am merely a small fish in a big pond when it comes to WDW knowledge compared to so many of you.

I'd be happy working at Bay View Gifts or the Emporium. You guys know of my affection for the Contemporary Resort so I'd be a happy camper there. :)

My dream job would be a friend of Sorcerer Mickey at the end of Fantasmic. I know all the moves by heart. I'm glad it's not a face character because if I ever got to do that just once, I'd be bawling happy tears. :joyfull:

This is a tough one! So, in no particular order...

• Imagineer - creative/idea person, I am in no way an engineer
• VIP Tour Guide or Keys to the Kingdom Tour Guide
• Guest Relations/Concierge
• Performer - shows, parades, etc.

Realistically?: Working Merch somewhere in the parks or resorts. (Applying to the College Program in January and hoping to make it a reality!)
If I could do anything?: Imagineer, hands down.
