Dream Job

If you had a chance to do it all over again and start a new job at Walt Disney World.....what would you love to do?

For me I'd love to be a Firefighter for the Reedy Creek Fire Dept. Yes they technically aren't Disney employees but still.

Also I'd love to be and Engineer on the WDW steam engine. Always thought that was cool!

I'll take Iger's job any day of the week.

I was in the College Program in 1998, opened Animal Kingdom in the Parking Lots so I do have a bit of Cast Member experience. I certainly prefer to be a guest but I always thought it would be very cool to drive the boats around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. That always seemed like a great gig!

How well does TDC pay? Raelly, I like where I am now. Upper Middle Management over a diverse group of engineering and technical personell. The pay is good, the work is interesting, and while the job requirements do keep me busy - travel, some long days, some late nights, some weekends putting out fires (Thake you BOTH Clinton and Trump for that long weekend and those 10:30 PM Sunday night calls) it does leave me plenty of family/quality time.

So, for a "dream job" at WDW. Something in a technical (engineering) field, supervising a team of dedicated people, making good money, making a difference, and still having family time. You could put me in logistics, design, planning, maintenance, or any other department. My first love is actualy heavy construction, but that goes old real quick when you are out in the field, as the on site engineering, when they are driving piles in single digit weather and you are covered in creosote and it squirts out of the piles. Maybe Florida construction is nicer. Or of course I could remain in telecommunications where I am now.

I dream of being an old guy piloting the friendship boats someday....

It's funny you should say this. That's EXACTLY what I plan on doing when I retire in another 6 years or so. Maybe not just the friendships, but some boat somewhere on WDW property!

I dream of retiring and becoming a part time captain of the water taxis between POR. OKW, DS, etc. Bad dad jokes are my thing.

If I could have spent my career there, maybe someone giving behind the scenes tours and eventually managing the tour team.

I'd be between an office and in the field doing public relations. Either that or leading/being in charge of training for new and current employees.

Both of these positions would go towards enhancing the experience for guests.

Are you eligible for a H1B or L1A visa if not well there is no place at WDW for you, As you might recall Disney fired all their US Tech people in FL and replaced them with Cognizant who brought in H1B and L1A staff.

Since I'm a hairstylist, I'd probably work at BBB and hopefully introduce actual styles instead of the same few hairstyles. Then again... I'm not that kid friendly so I'll probably work with the animals in Animal Kingdom. Wait... maybe I could design the wigs for shows and parades.

I am attorney but would not want to do anything in legal...boring. My daughter thinks I should play Ursula lol. I think it would be fun to be a CM on the Tower of Terror, a bell hop. Or to be a character in a parade.

Edit: I would also love to work at The Lion King so I could watch that show over and over again.

Guest Experience Liaison. I would create this position to tour the parks all day, and provide ranked, detailed, foot on the ground, information back to management.
