It doesn't make sense for DAWM to close April 2nd. I figured the show would end and than the new show would start the next day

Looks like a better set than that god awful tent. The name is iffy but it honestly doesn't look like too bad of a show. Hopefully they learned a thing or two about putting on a show from Villain Spelltacular.

I wonder if they want to close DAWM and resurface or replace the stage deck before they open the new show? I have to imagine that stage takes a lot of wear & tear every day, and I don't remember (though I could be wrong) them refurbing the actual stage while they were doing the hub.

That sounds like a good possibility, but it still seems like it will be closed a while. Maybe they'll finally finish the castle ramps!
