It's more likely a nod to companion Rose Tyler.
Noticed tonight on the Christmas episode of Dr. Who entitled "The Snowmen" that his new sidekick Clara starts out the episode working at the Rose and Crown in 1892 London. I am assuming that is a little nod to WDW/EPCOT.
Any Epcot connection seemed like just a happy coincidence to me... of course I can dream that it was the first deliberate hint of a DW attraction -- a ride aboard the TARDIS -- at the UK pavilion. It was believed to be a nod to Rose Tyler and Donna Noble... Rose and Crown.

Back to the OP... Has anyone actually seen Dr. Who merch at the UK Pavilion yet?
I walked through all of the shops this past weekend and didn't see the Dr. Who merchandise.
You guys are hilarious. That's kind of neat, but I think it could use a little more synergy:
I took these pics during F&W

and why we can get some awesome Ponyo merchandise!Yoda knows this, but for others...Mitsukoshi is major retailer in Japan. Their Tokyo store in the Ginza district is a huge department store that carries (seemingly) everything. So they know how to run a store and know where to get merchandise that is truly popular in Japan. Which, I think, is why I always like the stuff in that store.
