They told me in the Christmas Shop that it was 30.00! So I didn't bother walking past the shopping district. NOT happy. lol

Two words: LEGO Store (if you have a 12 year old boy you HAVE to go to the store!)
Sorry you didn;t like DTD... We always enjoy it! Now I have to admit much entertainment... The DJ is a hit and miss and I hardly ever go past pleasure Island since I can spend hours at the West End.....and yes I have experienced PI in it's heyday!
If you get a chance the Festival of the Masters is quite impressive. All these artisit come together and do chalk drawings around the WOD Disney..very cool....around November I think...
Did you see the marjarita stand by the water? Did you design a T? Play the in water by the toy store? Ride the boats at the Marina? Get a sundae at Chiredellia(my spelling stinks)? Let the kids walk around TREX? (no we dont eat there but we always go in and walk around)

If you hate Downtown Disney - you REALLY would have hated Buena Vista Village. Talk about a boring outdoor mall.

Meanwhile, I am totally excited to here about what "more" is. :) I am sure they will hold off on saying anything until the Avatar shock has worn off...

Yesterday, i visted Downtown Disney for a lil bit. I had no memory of the place. I will say, it was September 20, 2011 around 12:00pm.

1.) Not much to do. I didnt feel like there was enough to entice me to return any other time, Except for the Character In-Flight (which i didnt do)
2.) Needs a lil bit more theming outside. Didnt feel there was alot of outside theming at all.
3.) Some Street Entertainment. This would be nice to have.

i know DTD is mainly shopping, but common, give something more.

I love Walt Disney Word, I have never been unimpressed with anything, until now. (Im probably in the minority who don't like DTD)

Go to Earl of Sandwich and order the Holiday Sandwich...you'll be back! :animwink:

Does anyone remember when Downtown Disney had a playground or something? I remember it being a lot smaller..maybe just the area around the Christmas store and the Art of Disney store. And a lot more wooded. It could just be my hazy childhood memory though.

By any chance were you there with a child and no one else? Maybe they just did the math (18 + 12), told you 30 meaning for both of you, and either garbled their explanation or you didn't hear them right and thought they meant per person?

Only places I remember are these:

The sandbox outside of the Captains Tower (now the Pin Station)

This thing-a-ma-bob outside of Lite Bite (now Ghiradelli's)
