Ok please please please don't flame me but my Aunt called WDW and was asking for info about Pirates and Princess parties and the representative told her that if she was in the park on that day that she would be allowed to stay and enjoy the party but not be allowed to ride the rides that are open without a wristband. Now I know folks who are off property are allowed to do this during EMHs but this just doesn't sound right. Can anyone clarify if this is true or not? :veryconfu

When we went in February they were asking people without wristbands to leave the park I think....

I believe they cleared the parks for the previous parties, but I think before there was half an hour between official park closing and the start of the parties. This summer's parties are scheduled to start at the exact same time as park closing (7pm) so I'm not sure if they'll be able to do the same sweep of the park. I hope so. If they don't, they sure as heck better kick non-wristbanded folks out of lines for character greetings too or Disney had better be prepared to give me my money back! :fork:

EDIT: Actually, now that I've thought about it a bit more, if they don't kick all non-wristbanded folks out of the park completely, they better be ready to give me my money back. I have paid for the party in large part just to see the special fireworks and parade. If anyone can see them without paying, there is no value in the party tickets for me really!

Yeah I agree which is why I was asking it just didn't seem right for all those folks who paid 40 bucks a pop to have others just kinda hang out. But im wondering if since it is right after if they are going to do what you said and just not let people get in any lines....I will be down the same time as her but I am thinking she is on her own.

They try their best to make people without wrist bands leave but you could prob still walk around. You will NOT be able to get on the rides.

When I went to the P&P party in March, there was 30 minutes between park close and the start of the party (7pm close, and 7:30 party start). There were CMs set up who were just looking for wristbands (and directing people without them to the exit). I don't know how they will be working the summer P&P parties.

I have not been to the P&PP but, I have been to the Halloween Party (MNSSHP) and they cleared the park of all guests not wearing a wristband. I assume all after hours events are run pretty much the same way.

I have been to several hard ticket events (my latest being MVMCP) and most of the times I have seen two CM's one at the corner of Casey's, one at the corner of the Ice Cream Parlor, and as you passed them they were asking to see your wristband. If you did not have one they were kindly asking people to head out for the evening. Of course they will not catch everyone, but they were being pretty thorough in making people pull up their long sleeves and what not. I feel that for P&P party you could probably at least catch the fireworks with the P&P musical score...I'm not trying to promote "cheating the system" just saying that this would be a likely reality.

After seeing this I decided to call and check. I was told you had to have a wristband on to stay in the parks..even just to shop. Which is how it should be for hard ticket events..you pay extra for the benefit of fireworks w/ crowd, special character greets w/o obscene lines in the hot sun etc.

I was a P&P in Feb. and they were checking for wristbands before you could cross the bridge into Tomorrow Land.

Tomorrowland CM's are the BEST!!! YESSS!!! LOL

Sorry, had to give kudos to my former co-workers. Anyway, I agree with everyone, no wristband, no fun. Sorry, but why should I pay up to an extra $45 dollars when anyone else can stay for free? I know they are not allowed to ride w/o a wristband, but still. When I do hard ticket events I usually do it for the fact that the park is less crowded (which is great for rides) and it has a different feel to it. When I worked in Tomorrowland I loved to work MVMCP and MNSSHP, and when I was able to get tix for them it was even better. I pay for the atmosphere, why shouldn't anyone else?

To confirm...

Magic Your Way Tickets are not valid for events requiring a separate admission such as:

Disney Grad Nite
Disney's Pirate & Princess Party
Night of Joy
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
Downtown Disney Pleasure Island New Year's Eve

Admission to these special events is not included in any other type of admission media. Tickets valid only during specific dates and hours.

Guests inside the Theme Park who have purchased hard ticket event tickets for the same day may return to the Main Entrance to have the Special Ticket Event admission media swiped. The Guest will receive a wristband which will serve as proof of admission for the Event later that evening. Guests with wristbands may stay in the park at closing; Guests without wristbands will be asked to leave the park.

In addition to the Main Entrance, additional areas for Guests to swipe their Special Ticket Event media and receive wristbands may be set up inside the park. Guests should refer to their park guide or ask a Cast Member for these locations.

Just for additional information. CM's were posted at each entrance/exit to the different lands from the "Hub" during MNSSHP and MVMCP when we went last year. They look for the wrist bands and if you do not have one you are kindly asked to exit the park. Also some people :D with the wristbands also help by pointing out the ones without them to CM's.:lookaroun
