Dole Whips

Ok...after scanning these forums for some time...I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about Dole Whips and Dole Floats...

(And there is no way you're gonna get a bad thing about them out of me :slurp: )

I've come up with a plan that will help us all in the long run...

1. Put "Aloha Isle" on the Guide Map under "Attractions"

(is anyone really "not attracted" to this little stand???)

2. Open it during E-ride nights

(this may already happen)

3. Build an intricate queue line themed to a hawaiian setting...with the smell of pineapples in the air...

(3 lines of course... "FastPass, Standby, and Single Eaters Line")

I buy an eggroll, then eat the eggroll while in line for a Dole Float, and then eat the float while I'm waiting in line to buy another one.

hmmmm... you say that like a whip and a float are the same thing. Did you have one of both, or did you think we were calling one item two different names?

Doo do Doo do... Doo doo do... Doo do doo do do da do doo...

OK, now you've got me thinking. I never really gave these a second thought. What is the difference and are they really that great? As a diabetic sensitive to carbs (of which fruit is almost 100%) are they really worth giving up food?

A Dole Whip is a "pineapple/vanilla" soft serve ice cream "whip"

A Dole Float is the ice cream sitting in a cup of pineapple juice.

Whip is the plain ice cream thingy, while a float is the whip with pineapple juice on top....

I had a float... But, while you consume a float, you are also consuming a whip, which is what this thread is about.... I always go for a float, because not only do you get the whip, you also get nice juice.

So there! :p :p :p

Sorry, wasn't trying to be rude. I stand corrected, you eat a whip with your float. :hammer:

Of course, they are one of the best treats at WDW, or anywhere for that matter.

They are realitively cheap also $2.50 I think... although I know that's not what you meant. They are made from real juice.

Thanks...just wanted to know if I should save some of my carb allowance for one (maybe I'll share). I never worry about prices...they are just part of Disney!

tigsmom--do whatever you have to in order to try one. If you like pineapple, they are worth arranging your entire day's food intake around.

That said, you probably shouldn't eat a whole one by yourself.

Could you "get away with" having a bite or two without ill effects? They are very yummy, and really hit the spot if it is hot when you're there.

Since we are going in August I'm sure it will be hot...since I'm not insulin dependant I can play around with my carb totals...as long as I don't go too far over. Guess I'll have to stop by after all. Thanks everyone for the input!
