I know Spring can be a busy time at DisneyWorld, but is the first week of March normally this crowded? Could it be that TouringPlans.com is a bit off in this predicition?

Maybe a bit, but keep in mind that TP crowd predictions are a function of average standby wait times, not actual crowd size. Standby times have been trending upward in recent years because of WDW lowering staffing levels and ride capacity, and have seen another increase more recently due to the introduction of Genie+/ILL. So you might notice higher posted wait times, but not necessarily more people than you're used to seeing.

Also, those crowd predictions will shift around quite a bit between now and March. I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.

Thanks for easing my mind. My trip has been pushed more times than I can count already. I've moved into uncharted territory, but I am looking forward to the Flower and Garden Festival.

Mardi Gras is March 1, 2022 - a large portion of students in Louisiana get the week of Mardi Gras off every year and it can feel like they all head to Orlando (but not really true in reality ). The Mardi Gras date might be driving the touring plans numbers higher. I think they factored in Mardi Gras vacation crowds in the pre-pandemic years.

I've been several times at peak crowds - Easter, Spring Break, 4th of July. Yes the crowds are a pain, but we always have a good time. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
