I love going on the train and seeing splash. Its so much fun. I always get a chuckle out of myself for some odd reason.

A question for the OP: as much as you have been to WDW and post in this forum, you didn't know that the railroad ran through Splash? Have you never ridden Splash before?

Does the RailRoad run in the dark.. at night? Anyone ever ride it during the xmas parties for example?

It runs at night, yes... it has a light on it after all.....

However, WDWRR does not run during MNSSHP nor MVMCP because of the fireworks. Perimiter is launched from the track... and you cant hardly launch fireworks if youve got a heapin steam train comming right towards them, can you?

On nights when there are Fireworks at park closing time, the Railroad closes 1 hour prior to that.

On nights when there are fireworks before the park closes, for example park closes at 11pm, with fireworks at 10pm, the trains will suspend their operations about 40 minutes prior to fireworks, and resume operations after getting track clearance, then will run until park close.

PhotoDave~ is correct the trains don't run for MNSSHP or MVMCP, but they also do not run for Grad Nite, & Night of Joy.

The trains do run at night, they are lit for nighttime running. Also with the construction of Splash Mountian and the trains running backwards and forewards from ToonTown to Main Street there were marker lights added to the engines and the last car of the train. These lights came from the old Fort Wilderness Railroad.

This and all sorts of other wonderful Railroad information is available on the Steam Trains tour... I highly reccommend it.

I went on splash a few times each trip but never seen a train go through that ending scene. I never rode the train either.. so I sort of missed out on this.. but now I'm excited to see it that I know it goes through.:xmas:

In July 2003, I loved that tour! I got a special edition pin/ornament to go along with it :D

They told us they were just starting to give out the pins, since people with the souvenir spikes were being "hassled" at Orlando International...

That would be fun :D :lookaroun

If the train just pushed the pyro car along:

"Hey... why are the fireworks moving to Toontown?"

This is true!

After a long while without going on the Train, I was surprised on how I forgot that it does go through the last scene (with the riverboat and the HM in the cloud)!
