Does seeing a Disney character bring you to tears?

I have tears in my eyes the moment I see that castle for the first time, everytime.

But yes.....Stitch makes me cry. My every first trip to WDW was 1 day after my friend Nick lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis. I was devastated. Here I was going to Disneyworld right after my friend passed. I felt horrible. And Nick was always my Stitch. He used to do the voice, and he had a tattoo of him on his leg. When I waited in line to meet Stitch and Lilo I was a bit choked up, then I ran up and hugged Stitch and full on burst into tears. My mom had to tell the accompanying CM why her 22 year old daughter was a big mess. The CM whispered to them, and Stitch just held me for a few minutes. It was so sweet. Since then, whenever I see Stitch, the tears always well up.

Wow, what a story, thanks for sharing now I have tears in my eyes.

The characters are always so very kind and sweet! I remember Goofy giving me the biggest hug @ Chef Mickey's as my family was seated before me. I was late and rather upset about it, and somehow Goofy knew it!:)

Characters that make me cry every single time are Nemo and the Three Caballeros.

Watching my daughter meet Alice on our last day I did have water in my eyes. I have it on video and every time I watch it those emotions and happy feelings always come back.

Certainly not. The characters, meet n greets, etc, represent precisely 0% of why I love WDW. In fact, I kind of get annoyed when people put huge emphasis on meeting the characters as if that is the main reason you go to WDW. There's just so much more to appreciate at WDW than people in costumes. As a kid I found meet & greets awkward and I still do.

But that's just me. I know I'm in the minority with this opinion.

Nah. You're not alone.
The last two threads about 'Disney timeless characters are why my family goes to Disney' and 'character M&G is worth you spending $60 on a dress' were (possibly) started by the same Disney stooge, hoping to sway public opinion.

I have a wife and two daughters (4 and 8). So needless to say when we met Cinderella during our last vacation, there was some crying taking place. And I'm not talking about the misty eye or slight tear of emotion. No...some SERIOUS crying. The crying got so bad that my wife finally told me to shut up, wipe my face, and take the stinkin' picture already.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of meet-n-greets myself, but I'm hoping you have some evidence to back up the notion that this person is a "Disney stooge". That's a pretty serious accusation, and one, I'm sure, that many character-loving folks on this forum would take offense to.
