Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

Yes they do but in the meantime I wish they properly maintained the ones they have. The Yeti still has had no attempt at being fixed on Everest, Space Mountain is near collapse, Splash Mountain got saved from collapse last year, Big Thunder needs a refurb and Rock N Rollercoaster is pretty rough right now.

I wish Space Mountain gotten a major refurb like Disneyland did years ago. I liked the Disneyland version since I felt like you really were in space.

Rockin' Roller Coaster is just way too fast! I still have to ride once every time I visit Disney. I think Disney needs an additional thrill ride E ticket in each park, too. But, more on the level of Expedition Everest, Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain. So, thrilling but not too thrilling.

Not to Six Flags levels of Thrill though.

I just want to see Disney innovate in their thrill rides, like they have done in the past and across the world.

My mind goes into overdrive when I ride Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, Gringotts etc at what Disney could do using such systems with their vast library of IP, yet it feels like we are miles away from seeing such a dream become reality.

LOL. Of course not. I have never been to a Six Flags but I imagine it's like Cedar Point or slightly less.

All of the rides you mentioned consist of screens which is okay for Universal. But, I don't ever want Disney to jump on this bandwagon. All of the rides are basically the same with a different movie on the screen.

We'll have to disagree on that, I think the screen debate has been overdone across this site and most others but the 3 rides I mentioned are pretty incomparable, beyond screens.

Ps. Count how many rides at Epcot use screens. Just not as effectively. :)

I would like to see a ride at each park on the thrill level of DCA's CA Screamin'. I like the low thrills, dark rides, and chill attractions, but the parks need a bit more variety on the thrilling side. I had high hopes for 7DMT, but it is not a thrill ride- fun and well done, but not a thrill ride.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you. I definitely don't want to get into another silly screen debate. LOL.

I love all of Universal's 3D and screen based rides -- Forbidden Journey, Gringotts, Hogwarts Express, Minions, Simpsons, Transformers, and Spiderman.

Plus, there is the upcoming King Kong and Furious 7 rides, so again even *more* screens. I can't wait to see these new additions. It totally works for Universal. You just alarmed me a little bit when you mentioned those specific rides because that is not what we expect from Disney and they need to stay away from that kind of thing.

Disney needs to build more E ticket rides, a lot more.

Agree with you on all of those except rock n roller coaster. Coaster seems to still be pretty smooth.

I know this is your personal opinion, but I disagree. The majority of Disneys thrill rides are thrilling but not too thrilling. What is wrong with adding a few higher thrilling rides to Disney? Especially with how Disney themes their rides. I guess what I'm trying to say, would it be a problem to add more thrill to Disney?

I agree. May I ask though what you think needs to be done to Rock N Rollercoaster?

Optimally, Disney would open some kind of big ride with at least some sort of thrilling component at one of its parks at least every other year.

This is standard practice at almost every other American theme park, and its only through complacency that Disney's guests aren't demanding more.

I can ride Rock N Rollercoaster at Disneyland Paris over and over (which I regularly do) and be totally fine but I always get off WDW's version with bad neck and headache, every single time. Both versions have the exact same track layout and stuff so obviously there is something off with WDW's one for this to happen.

Yes.... Disney needs to keep bringing more thrills to all the parks so they dont get stale. Guests are excited to experience something thrilling and adventurous. This would draw in huge numbers to the park adding to guest numbers at all the other parks in turn. A RnRC type ride really would draw them in and keeps them coming back. The 7DMT got everyone excited but it failed to be the big thrill we were looking for and look how well that minor thrill has done.
