Does DHS need more to continue to be relevant?

My wife and I were discussing our recent vacation to WDW. One thing we agreed on was that DHS needs more new attractions other than TSM. What do you think?
We went to DHS once in 7 days at WDW. We got there around 10AM and fast passed TSM, our return time was between 2:15 and 3:15PM so we went off to do everything else. We found that the other attractions in the park just did not hold our interest as in past visits. Granted we’ve been to DHS before, so other than TSM there wasn’t anything new. The same however can be said for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and the Animal Kingdom and yet we still find those parks and their attractions exciting and fun.
The street-mosphere people were the best part of the day, especially when my DW got in the middle of the cop and the kid looking for sound stage 32. Other than that we found ourselves wandering around basically killing time until we could ride TSM, which I will say, was great fun.
We were so bored that we cancelled our ADR at the Brown Derby because we didn’t want to wait for dinner time or leave and then have to come back. Instead we went to the Magic Kingdom and had a fun late afternoon and evening and enjoyed counter service at Cosmic Ray’s.

I know what you mean, on our 2 week trip at the end of spring we only spent half a day in the park, all the fastpasses for TSM had gone by the time we got there and Fantasmic wasn't playing so there was no point in hanging around as we had done everything else. On previous trips we had normally done everything we wanted to by 5 O'Clock but we would always hang around and re-do some attractions to wait for Fantasmic, but you no longer have that option anymore expect for maybe two nights a week.

The park needs the most work out of the 4. The Studio theme seems to be on the way out. I think the future of the park will be Pixar Studios expanding to take over the building to the left of TSM, Honey Play ground to become A bugs life Play Ground, and the Backlot Tour will become Cars Land.

I think Sunset BlV, AI, and GMR will stay with the studio theme.

As for the rest of the park I can see the Narnia, One Mans Dream, VOTLM, and the animation building becoming Marvel Studios.

It's not so bad, but you could upgrade it tremendously with a couple of additions from California:

1) Indy ride
2) Aladdin musical

Those may never happen, but we'll get updates of Star Tours & Fantasmic before too long. That will help some.

I agree with you that DHS could need another new attraction.I normally don't need more than one day for the park because a lot of the shows are not interesting for me. I have seen LMA two times and i think that's enough for a couple more years.

I wouldnt count out MGM (thats right i said it) by any means. I think they need some work there but for the most part the future seems bright for this place. ToT always gets upgraded and is a great ride, same as RnRc. the great movie ride could use some new AA figures as well a general overhaul. The indiana Jones show should be redone to include new scenes from the new movie and classic ones, but new scenes none the less. or even a ride put in its place.

dont forget there are a couple of strong rumors for that park

Monsters inc rollercoaster

star tours 2.0

new marvel characters comming?!?!

car land

and new LMA show.

i do think the backlot tour used to be so much better! I can remeber when it was a lenthy tour infront of all differents props and Catastrophy Canon used to be a much better show but now i feel like they should not drive behind it since it looks like its about to crap out. there are leaks everywhere!

but I like spending a day there and think there is alot of fun shows still left! The over all idea of the park and theme is great!

I do think that american idol show came way too late and over all a flop! we would be much happier if when they redid that area it was a hit attraction or show! kinda like adding steam to the park but it kinda hurt it!

The MI coaster had been put on hold and is not going to happen any time soon.

It's been said 1000 times, Carsland ain't happening in WDW, at least not with RSR, and I don't want it without that.

No way, Animation will never leave.

Just my opinion?

I didn't day it would happen with that but I think it willcome in some form.

You might me right but it could still get a Marvel tie in someday.

The addition of AI was a poor attempt to latch onto something popular. I would also think that the HISTK Playground's space could be better used. With major motion pictures in the works for future years (or some that were recently in theaters), I would think that there would be plans to update with attractions related to those, such as Cars, Princess & Frog, Up, Prince of Persia, Monsters Inc, Capt Nemo, etc. Much as we all love it, how many times can you see the same show @ Indy? Same with Muppetvision. One attraction that should NEVER be taken away is One Man's Dream.

agreed one mans dream is one of those like no fly zones. It shows how this all got started and is always a must stop for me!

I think that if Disney does not incorperate Marvel in some way at some park it would be a huge waste on their part. Such a great comic name has so much potential in the theme park world!

muppet vision is getting old but it is nicley done and has been redone from time to time like when it went from 3d-4D.

only time will tell!

Seriously SirGoofy, you don't think DHS needs the most work out of all four parks? I'm just curious which one you think is worse.

Magic Kingdom. Classic attractions need to be refurbed/overhauled, and it needs a lot more attractions to keep pace with Disneyland.

or at least keep pace with...not...broken thing.

Studios has two of the biggest E-tickets around, an incredible and must-see family D-Ticket, Muppets and Star Tours which are still two of the best, three of the most popular table service restaurants, and countless other shows and attractions. Does it need some more D-Ticket range attractions? yes. Does it mean it's the "Most in need of help"? no way.

sir goofy: I disagree that MK needs the most work. I think it is in ok shape, not great but definatly not worse then HS. alot of the older classic rides are in great shape! SM is getting a redo, HM just got done, and the other rides I think are great.

If we had to pick a park that needs a new e-ticket it would be AK.

DAK just got Everest. Agree that MK is fine. That Park is all about young children and the fantasies that they are soo fond of. We do not need thrill rides beyond those that are there now.

1) I wouldn't thnk that this would happen since it is so similar to Dinosaur
2) Why not? I recall hearing that it is closing soon in CA. Why not change the venue to FL and keep a great show going.

Doesn't Marvel have a very large presence in Islands of Adventure?
