Does anyone remember "Ernest goes to Splash Mountain"?

This Disney Channel special randomly popped in to my head today. It invoved Ernest P. Worrell (Ernest Goes to Jail, School, Saves Christmas, etc.) being the "first" person to ride Splash Mountain, in, I think, Disneyland. It was, as I recall, sort of a mockumentary, and done very tongue in cheek. They had a big crowd cheering and chanting as he walked up Main Street, approaching the ride. They had reporters stationed throughout the ride to monitor his progress. He was very blase at first, saying he wished he'd brought a book, but by the end, he's using oxygen to breathe.

Very cheesy, as I said, but as a kid, I remember finding it highly amusing. Does anyone else remember this?

I remember.I also remember before he did any movies or tv shows he started off doing commercials as the Ernest character.Growing up in Ft lauderdale I saw him doing a regular commercial for some company where he talked to a guy name "Vern" then "Vern' would close the windows on his hands or something cheezy like that.
