Does anyone LIKE the Stitch/Alien idea besides me?

I don't think the Stitch redo will be bad, but I hate how they are trying to character-ize everything. Because of Disney fads that are happening right now, Tommorrowland is not what the Imagineers first invisioned. Once they decided to remodel Tommorrowland, they wanted to go for a 1940s/1950s outlook on the future.

Tommorrowland was an actual city with a convention center, transit system, and a science center. The Imagineers carefully themed every corner of the land including the Carousel of Progress sponsored by the Tommorrowland Metro-Retro Society. Tommorrowland became a place unique and different from anything on earth.

This whimsical, crazy look at the future was shattered right away when Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin was placed in Tommorrowland. Don't get me wrong, though. Buzz Lightyear is a GREAT attraction, but it does not fit. Disney movie characters have no place in this city-like land, especially Buzz Lightyear, a toy!

Now Stitch may be entering the scene. I have to say, Stitch will definetely be a better character in Tommorrowland the Buzz, but there is still something about him that doesn't fit. (It might be that he landed in Hawaii and that is where most of the movie takes place.) I have no doubt that the Stitch redo will be good, but Alien Encounter is great.

Many people have said how boring the attraction is after a couple of times on it. That isn't true. It might be scarier the first few times, but it is much more entertaining after that. Finding the little details and the humor in the attraction that hardly no one gets becuase they are so scared puts a smirk on my face. Then once the alien escapes, it is a comical show because everyone is screaming in terror. What is so great about this attraction is that when you are experiencing it, you feel as if you are in a movie or a good book.

Alien Encounter is much like a classic book. The plot of Alien Encounter is not just a carnivorus alien attacking the crowd; the actual story is about the alterior motives of X-S Tech. When I experience this attraction I see characters representing people in the real world. I am disgusted at Chairman Clench and his snood remarks. I laugh at the possibility of one day having a robot that we must call sir. I relate to Dr. Femus and her warnings and since of morals. Alien Encounter is not just an attraction. It is a representation of humanity and pulss out are basic human instincts.

With the addition of Stitch, we might want to decided to call Tommorrowland another name. How about Disney Characters That Seem To Be From Tommorrow-Land.

I'm sorry for how long this post was, but I felt that I had to get all of this out. Stitch will be a good attraction, but I will miss the story of humanity in Alien Encounter.

Wow getting pretty philosophical about AE. Now the real trick would be to whip Small World into how it represents the left brain of our deepest human desires of goodness.

LOL

This brings up a good point. Was anyone mad when they remodeled Tomorrowland from the sterile, concrete, featureless place it was into the cool new retro-looking place it is now? Personally, I'm really glad they changed it. It looks so interesting with the new scenery.

Were the anti-change petitioners out in force then?

Ben Affleck's mini monologue in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back pretty much sums up my feelings about 99.99999999% of the message boards out there :-)

Sorry I don't think you could be any more wrong. I've always had Alien Encounter as my favorite attraction for a couple of reasons. I think it has the best storyline and the best effects of any Disney attraction. And really its the only thing at the MK totally designed for the older age groups (Yeah I know what about the Mountains but honestly Space and Big Thunder aren't really wild and can be enjoyed by almost anybody tall enough to ride. And Splash Mountain is basically a Fantasyland ride with drops (Yeah it's one of the best rides in America but still when you break it down that's basically what it is). It's one of the few Disney attractions that non WDW fans my age can enjoy at the MK and actually think it was "cool".

"Oh, shut up scuffy, you're not burned you've just got a healthy glow"

"I've been siezed!" "Somthing you ate sir?" "Siezed with inspiration!"

"Its an alien!" "Its my mother-in-law!"

"Hello! Is everyone alright down there?"
"No, we're screaming for the fun of it."

"Alien, don't eat me! Eat this one!"

"And, to those of you who didn't get eaten, good eating, and good day.""

"My Mouth Was Open!"

"Who's Brain is this?"

Alien Encounter had some of the best humor on property! Hopefully, to compensate for Stitch, they will make the jokes crueller, sicker, and funnier than ever. Perhaps: "Mmmm, ketchup"

Another great thing about AE for me was watching/listening to the terror in audience. Call me a sadist, but nothing brightens my day more than seeing a bunch of stuck up/arrogant teens wetting their pants and crying for mommy.

Oh well, we'll always have: the memories

Damm right.

However I'm sad to say that based on what ive heard, based on reliable sources and 3rd hand information, that its pretty much a go.

Well, i just hope WDI does something cool. It could be done really well if they try. While i do love thge "scare your ______ off" theme of AE.... no matter how many signs you put up, family are going to thing that its all huggie and cuddily cuz its disney.

Now not trying to create any rumors here... Just playing what-if.... if disney makes a villans theme park, i'd put AE back in there the way it was. A truely scare rise just doesnt fit in the MK but would in a scary, villan themed park.

Just my $.11

I'm with you!
I'd love to see a STITCH attraction at WDW.

But why....oh WHY do they have to sacrifice one for the other?!?!?!?!? :veryconfu

If they want to ADD a STITCH attraction, I'm all for it! Just don't do it at the expense of another attraction I like!

Certainly, if budget is the reason for not building a new show building for the STITCH attraction, a better building to use might be that neglected TIMEKEEPER building across the street. At least AE is open every day!

That way, there will be two versions of the Tomorrowland "monster-fest" right across the street from each other.

CHOOSE YOUR EVIL!

hmm. AE where it is now. Stitch in the timekeeper building...

I smell, if it were to happen, a mini land inside Tomorrowland. (Sorta like the Chester and Hester area at Dinoland)

I am still a little confused on the Stitch idea to replace AE. How would the attraction go along with the Tomorrowland theme? AE follows this pretty well with the idea of teleporting from another galaxy (which is one of those things that would be "It's gonna happen in the future").

As far as AE being too scary: The first time I went on it I was freaked out at a couple points cause of how the ride really screws with your senses. After the ride I realized there is nothing to be scared of (it's only a ride). Now all the other times I am on it I get a laugh.

tomorrow land

Hey, I have a great idea,

Since what will happen tomorrow, is built upon what has happened in the past, and since they are going to screw up EPCOT by remodeling SpaceShip Earth, lets move that ride to Tomorrowland.:hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
