Does anyone know what this is?

Odyssey was briefly used as a sit-down restaurant, then was converted to be more of a conference room / banquet hall and the restaurant part was closed. There is still the restrooms there, as well as the first aid station, and the largest cast member commisary is in there too.

I can barely even remember the inside of that building, it's been so long.

Thank you for the response! :) I know the restrooms are still there, I just never knew if there was really a resturant there or not...for as long as I remember (92 visit I think) the place has been closed.

That's a prime piece of real estate in Epcot...I think they should definitely DO something with it...maybe not a ride...but SOMETHING...an attraction that brings together our future developments but also incorporates World Showcase. (kind of like a happy medium between the two sections of the park)

Rumor has it, the food was affordable.

As for something to connect both sides of the park, yea, why not? How about an Imagineering display for Epcot, like what is opposite City Hall in MK? They could show some prospective models of WS countries, design ideas for FW, Maybe even offer the ORIGINAL audio on CDs along with some truly Epcot-esque merchandise, like what USED to be in Centourium. Anyone remember Centourium, the 2-story geek playhouse of a store? Before it became the 25% of Innoventions selling the same kitchsy (sp?) crap that can be bought in the Disney stores in any mall?

*grump**grumble*

I LIKED the stuff that store had, but by the time I wasn't a kid and actually had MONEY to buy the stuff, the original store was gone. *sigh*

I really hate the direction Eisner has taken the sales and merchandise department. The stores ALL have the SAME stuff! Where's the Disney Originality?

First- That's funny!

Second - Yeah, I remember...only thing is the Disney stores around here don't sell anything I'd want to buy :( (they've gone a bit downhill)

I know exactly what you are talking about. Remember the Main Street Magic Shop!!! Ahh...the memories...the Centorium...

Now...if it can be found in the "World of Disney" store...it can be found in EVERY SINGLE shop in WDW! (with the exception of DD)

Oh yeah, and I believe that there was a little shop outside of the Haunted Mansion that sold stuff SPECIFICALLY for the Haunted Mansion (I know that there is still a cart...but I'm not talking about that...I'm talking about a shop that sold scary masks and stuff) Does anyone else remember that?

JungleJim: *GROAN*

I remember the magic shop, AND the spooky one outside the Haunted Mansion.

I know it's not nice to think ill of someone, but where would the company have gone if Eisner had gotten it in that helicopter crash rather than (I forgot his name) the CEO? Eisner took over both jhis job and the other guy's job (and doubled his salary) after that.

I'm sorry, but NOBODY produces ANYTHING to deserve 180 MILLION PER YEAR as compensation. That is total crap. He makes more money in one year than he could spend in 3 lifetimes, even at Disney's prices.

If Eisner stayed in the bridal suite in the Grand Floridian for the rest of his life, emptied the minibar ($4 airline-sized snacks) each and every day and ate nothing but the most expensive item on the menus at the fanciest WDW restaurants for the rest of his life, and bought an entire store each day... He STILL would have more money than Scrooge McDuck after 50 years of that!

*shuts up*
I guess I'm ranting a bit...

I just get so cheesed knowing how little he actually DOES for so much, and how MUCH the average CM does for so little... Pay the dang CMs more! Do that, at the expense of the board's (and YOURS Mikey!) salaries, and I promise not to whine about the ticket prices again! I would feel justified paying that price for the level of service I expect from the CMs, since THEY are the lifeblood of the WDW empire! NOT your sorry butt!

*whew!*
*really shuts up*

You are my new very good friend! You've just said it all!!! I am so not worthy to even be on the same boards as you!

I do mean that seriously....you have said it all! :sohappy:
