That would fit better if it was at/near Maurice's cottage. This is in the little courtyard outside the bathrooms totally opposite from there.

Absent-minded, remember? "I was SURE this was my house..."

Could this possible be there for something that has to deal with one of those interactive games inside the parks
Did you try to OPEN IT?? Somebody figure this out. It's killing me!!
Who's there right now? Anyone care to go an investigate this further for us? Maybe ask a CM if there is a story behind it or Open it and find out if there is anything inside it?
I'm going to go try and open it. I will be there on Saturday

If I recall, it's not a real door. It's just a molded facade on the wall. It'd have to lead to another dimension, because I think you can see where the top of the door would be on the opposite side of the wall, above the level of the dirt in the planter to the left of the gift shop.

Leonard Kinsey hasn't been banned. He quit his Dark Side shtick before they identified him. Which works for him since his Epcot 30th shenanigans really ed off the head of D23.Paging Mr.Woo, Mr Adam the Woo. Dark side of Disney would work too, but I think both of them have been banned from the parks
Details please...Leonard Kinsey hasn't been banned. He quit his Dark Side shtick before they identified him. Which works for him since his Epcot 30th shenanigans really ed off the head of D23.

I don't know but it looks like there is a man hole cover cleverly disguised on the ground directly in front of it so I am thinking it houses something for maintenance.
It would not surprise me one bit if that was correct.Looking at that, if the door was not there and the base of the building continued uninterruped, it would go over the edge of the manhole.
Maybe .....
Plasterer: Um, if I continue this base molding, it will go over the manhole cover. Sombody put it in the wrong spot.
On Site Imagineer: What if you left a gap in the base there?
Plasterer: Then the manhole will clear.
On Site Imagineer: Then leave a gap in the base molding.
Plasterer: Really? Just leave a gap?
On Site Imagineer: Disguise it as a little doorway. Nobody will be the wiser, and fans all over the internet will go nuts trying to figure out why is is there.
