No
So I saw my relatives, Redskins fans, this past Friday. I purposely wore a Ravens shirt just to aggravate them a little. And then as they were discussing the draft (which is completely over my head; I'm paying more attention to baseball right now) I said, "And when exactly did the Redskins last win a Super Bowl?" My aunt responded, "1989". Mmhmm. All in good fun;).

So what's the deal with the NY Jets? Every time I watch anything football-related on ESPN or ESPN2 this past week, it's always Jets news, & how they're going to choose which QB to stick with.

ECB (East Coast Bias) at its finest, Darth Tater. It's all about ratings, ratings and well...ratings. As a Giants fan, I could care less what those guys have to say, especially when they all do is talk about that Florida QB that shall not be named. I don't even bother watching ESPN for football analysis when I can go online and get insights from people who cover the Giants either for the actual Giants website or SB Nation team blogs like Big Blue View.

Everyone thinks Seattle is going to the Super Bowl, either them or the 49ers. The 49ers probably have the most talent in the league, but we all know that talent is only good when it's utilized correctly. And Seattle has only had one good year under their belt. An 11-5 record isn't necessarily elite, and the record should've been 10-6 because of the Game That Shall Not Be Named.

I see Atlanta and Green Bay as huge threats in the NFC. They both have better running games, especially the Packers. Atlanta's defense should be better, same for the Packers. Both drafted some guys who filled needs. Plus the Packers are getting back some starters who were injured most of last year. I expect both to be competing for the first and second seeds.

Here's how I see it right now for playoff seedings (yes, it is very early to predict these):
NFC
1. 49ers- most talent, great coaching
2. Packers- Offensive nightmare for opposing defenses, ranked 11th in def. last year despite popular belief and have improved it
3. Falcons- improved running game, elite passing game, improved defense
4. Giants- if Cruz is signed, top noth passing attack, solid running game, scary defensive line
5. Seahawks- improved receiving corp (not much), elite ground attack, good defense
6. Buccaneers/Vikings/Rams- TB: nice receivers, improved defense/ MIN: much improved receiving corp, improved defense, Peterson is a beast/ STL: improved receiving corp, good defense

AFC
1. Broncos- easy schedule, Peyton Manning, Montee Ball should help in running game
2. Patriots- Tom Brady, easy(ish) division
3. Texans- easy division, getting injured players back, Arian Foster
4. Bengals- only thing holding them back is a very average QB
5. Ravens- good running game, Flacco showed he can lead a team, defense still should be solid
6. Steelers/Dolphins/Colts- Wasn't sure who to put here, so just took some logical teams

Going back to the Seattle thing, fans voted Seattle as the Super Bowl winner over the Broncos for this upcoming season on NFL.com. When the fans are on your side... you're screwed.

My reception must be bad down here in Atl...my TV keeps showing Peyton Manning losing in the playoffs, and it used to show him lose in big games while he was in the SEC. Might need to pitch my TV as it always showed a different Chipper Jones, Greg Maddox, and Dominique Wilkins everyone else swears had play-off success.

That's the Peyton Manning bias, right there. Really, that Super Bowl year against the Saints (in which he lost), Drew Brees should have been MVP. Peyton is good, but not deserving of "best ever". Manning has had the luxury of playing in a dome for the majority of his career (every year minus one). Some QBs just don't have what it takes to cut through a defense on cold, windy days.

Don't get me wrong, he's a top 5 QB ever, but I think he's a tad overhyped. Especially in his older age.

My top 10 QBs all time are this:

1. Joe Montana
2. Tom Brady
3. John Elway
4. Peyton Manning
5. Brett Favre
6. Johnny Unitas
7. Dan Marino
8. Otto Graham
9. Steve Young
10. Bart Starr

I struggle with Aikman, because he did have a HOF career, but he also had a superstar cast around him. I opted to put Young and Starr over him because Young was more than a passer, he was a scrambler, too. And Starr is a leader, played in an era where the QB called the plays, and he was simply a winner.

Marino is 7th because he was a phenomenal QB, he just couldn't win the Super Bowl.

Embarrassed I left Brady off my list....I would replace Young with Aikman, for the same reason you left Aikman off....Young definitely has a very strong supporting cast, a tremendous system and only 1 ring to Troy's 3. Old school representation in your top 10 is impressive. Otto is another that rarely gets a mention.

Young and Aikman both deserve to be there, but there aren't enough spots in the top 10. :p The 90s battle between the Packers, 49ers and Cowboys was an intense one, but the Cowboys always seemed to be the best of them. Maybe because the Cowboys always got to play at home against the Packers?? :p

People often forget the QBs who played in the 70s and 60s and even earlier. And as I typed out "70s" I'm thinking that Roger Staubach should be in the top 10. Whoops! But just because they played a long time ago doesn't mean they aren't good. Those QBs would have been great today, IMO. So much more protection for them, less leadership responsibility (coaches call plays now for the most part), and there isn't the fierceness that there was back then. The fields didn't have heaters under them, and there wasn't the good equipment and technology like we are used to today. Johnny U, Otto Graham, and Bart Starr are often overlooked as great QBs, but they were the Peyton Manning's, Tom Brady's, Drew Brees's, and Aaron Rodgers of their time.
