Buccaneers just got better. Acquired Darelle Revis from the Jets today. Maybe they'll be a sleeper, they have the pieces for the most part, and they've been on the bubble for the past couple of years. The only thing holding them back is their division. The Falcons, Saints, and Panthers could all pose some sort of threat, especially the Falcons and Saints.

Didn't the Baltimore Browns win the Super Bowl last year?
Ugh, I hate that name. I'm so glad we're not the "Baltimore Browns". Baltimore RAVENS!!!

Interesting tidbit: Before the Orioles came to Baltimore and the Ravens came to Baltimore, both were called the Browns. The Orioles were first the St. Louis Browns and the Ravens were the Cleveland Browns. Both saw the light and changed their names;)

Heard that...My hometown's baseball team used to be the Bean-Eaters:eek:

Just out of curiosity, is Phillip's @ the Inner Harbor still as tremendous as in the mid-2000's? Passing through, we had lunch and have never had crab cakes that came close to those....a pretty fair cup of clam chowder as well. If I recollect correctly, Phillip's wasn't too far from Camden Yards?

It's down at the Inner Harbor. It's not far from Camden Yards, but still a decent walk. I've never tried it, but I've heard it's good. I tend to eat more in some of the restaurants around Baltimore County, not Baltimore City, because I live in the county and unless you take the light rail, it's a pain in the butt to get down there and takes about an hour before you've gotten anywhere from my house. I usually only go down there for events and such. A good one to try if you visit Camden Yards is called Dempsy's. It's right at the ballpark. On game days, you can only get in if you have a ticket, but it's open year-round. It's Orioles themed, of course, and has some MD-inspired cuisine. I had some really good crab quesadillas. It's worth a try if you're in the city and isn't too expensive either.

You know even though I'm from MD I hate crab cakes? I have never liked the texture. I eat crabs all the time with my family, and I love crab soup and other crab items. Heck, I even put Old Bay on my french fries (try it! It's great!) but I don't like crab cakes. Never have. My family doesn't understand it!

I can see any of the 4 teams easily taking the NFC South title this year. The Panthers are improving, the Saints coming off a controversial year with issued punishments, the Bucs adding talent, and the Falcons still a dangerous threat. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 from that division make the playoffs this year.

I got scared for the Packers in the NFC North last night. The Vikings added some real talent. Not looking forward to facing them. Don't be shocked to see Minnesota back in the playoffs.

San Fran looks as if they got a bit better as well...Not sure if I believe in Seattle, but the West might be really tough...

The NFC playoff race is going to be wild this year. Here's the teams I think have a legitimate shot at the playoffs:

Packers, Vikings, Bears, 49ers, Seahawks, Giants, Cowboys, Redskins, Saints, Falcons, Buccaneers

I was struggling with whether to put the Rams or Eagles in there. Too many unknowns yet to put them in there.

I know it won't turn out like this, but if they are all still in the hunt late in the year, that's 7 teams fighting for 2 wild card spots. I don't think there's nearly as much competition in the AFC.

Sleeper team? My Dallas Cowboys........I think they are going to sleep through the season, again, like they have done for the past several years.

Can we REALLY leave off Carolina, Detroit, and Arizona....for sure?

NFC top to bottom looks brutal!!

I left the Panthers off because, quite frankly, I'm not a believer. Cam is not the great player people think he is. He throws too many interceptions, and the only things he has going are speed and size. He's not a team leader either.

And then Detroit and Arizona I left out because I don't think they can win in their divisions. Both are though divisions (North and West). IMO, they are at the bottom of their respective divisions.

Of course it's way too early to tell who will do what. Lots can happen between now and week 1.
