Does anyone else avoid these boards when you are struggling with money?

I can see why one would avoid it. A lot of people like to just discuss the state of the parks, news, etc., but if a lot of your posts typically hinge on trip planning matters or things to hype you up for a trip - it can range from feeling pointless to depressing to come on here and see all of the other people prepping to go. The reality is that sometimes life hands you some really ugly stuff and unless you're lucky to have tons of $$$ set aside for these issues as well as fun things- it can cut into vacay funds...sometimes for quite some time.

Case in point, back in 2011 we had a massive fire destroy a chunk of our side business. The damage was in the 6-figure range and while the insurance paid out a decent sum, Fannie Mae rules kept us from accessing much of that $ in a timely fashion to make the repairs. We were out of pocket for a lot of it up front and it forced us to cancel our California trip to Disneyland. I wanted nothing to do with Disney forums for a while after facing this reality. It was just too depressing to see people chatting about vacay details while our $ was going into repairs.
