Okay, we often talk about extinct attractions such as Horizons, etc. I am wondering about the little things that I remember from my childhood, such as,

Do you remember the swan boats.
Do you remember eating at the adventureland veranda or breakfast at oscar mayer on the open patio.(now Tony's)
Do you remember being able to book flights at the eastern airlines kiosk at the end of "If you had wings".
Do you remember the Village restaurant in what is now downtown.
Do you remember the slide in front of lite bite.
Do you remember the old orlando airport.
Do you remember when characters would greet arriving flights at the gate.
Do you remember paper straws.
Do you remember the lime green and blue floors at the poly.
Do you remember River country or discovery island.
Do you remember the House of Magic.
Do you remember when you could swim at the beach at the poly or contemporary.
So, do you remember any of this, let me know and share what little known things you remember as well.

I only remember one of those! And that would be River Country and Discovery Island. We loved loved loved River Country and would go there every time we went. We especially loved it when TL opened because then there were less people there. :D Of course that also led to it's demise unfortunatly. I like Discovery Island too but we only went there maybe 3 times.

Do you remember paper straws.

On a side note... I "think" these paper straws made a come back lol...

2 weeks ago at AK all beverages were handed out with this thick paper tube of a straw. Think of the carboar insert of a roll of paper towels, straw size, thicker, and white.

Is this along the lines of the paper straws you remember?

Do you remember purposefully getting your hand stamped with the 'black light' ink at EPCOT Center and then going on Journey into Imagination and seeing your stamp before you reached the turntables?

One of my favorite memories from childhood.

That is exactly how I would describe those. They were actually annoying because they would collapse rather easily. I will have to check that out next time I am there.

I remember being able to see the stamp on Mr. toads and peter pan and journey into imagination. I also remember going swimming with the stamp and being worried that it would come off even though they said it would not.

I don't remember almost ANYTHING on that list, but I DO have a picture of me as a little girl in a mickey-mouse bathing suit in the water on the beach of Contemporary!! I am snatching that picture (and many others) when I get back home! My brother used to talk about going back to River Country, I had always wanted to go.

These ones are much more stronger, thicker, and sturdier. They held up pretty well (didn't get soggy) but it was so 'awkward' drinking out of it!

Yeah Yeah. Must have been an English major. My professors used to comment on my lack of punctuation as well. Sorry:wave:

I remember a few of those. I liked eating on the Adventureland Veranda. They had teriaki burgers there, and whereas they were not the best burger in the world, they were at least pretty unique in WDW. Pinapple on a burger? Awesome!

I also remember poor River Country and Discovery Island. You could go to both for one low price!

What about the old studio tour at the then MGM Studios? You would go on some insanely long walking tour through the sound and special effects areas, and then get on the tram to do the current ride.

Anyone remember the Wild West show they did outside on the streets and on top of the buildings of Frontierland? I think it was some sort of bad guy cowboys vs. the sheriff, but I remember it having fairly good stunts.
