Do you have to fight back tears during any special DisneyWorld moments?

I'm sure this has been asked before but its always an interesting topic. Are there any special moments that get you all choked up and either cry or tear up?

For me I find both Illuminations and Wishes very emotional and have to fight back tears during them.

I was never a cryer before, but I've found I am getting more emotional as I get older!

I always get goosebumps and a little teary (tears of joy or pride, I guess) towards the end of the AMERICAN ADVENTURE show when the music swells and the song repeats....

AMERICA,
SPREAD YOUR GOLDEN WINGS
FLY ON FREEDOM'S WIND
ACROSS THE SKY...

 :D

I tend to be more emotional about it when I'm HOME... partly I'm sure because I miss it so much. When I'm playing theme park music, certain things really get to me and I just wish I was there...

"Wishes" usually gets me too. The Candlelight Processional at Epcot, anything my daughter is doing for the first time, so I guess yes, lots of things at WDW make me cry! But, tears of joy of course!

I like to cry, I like it a lot.

The first time I walk into any park in a given vacation, I cry. I cry at various attractions--American Adventure, Carousel of Progress, Spaceship Earth, Great Movie Ride--as well as all fireworks shows and pretty much any recording of Walt speaking. Never feel ashamed for crying at Disney! It's part of what makes it great!

i cry at everything at disney before i go ...when finally are on our way to the resort....when i finally see the "WELCOME TO WALT DISNEYWORLD " sign....seeing cinderellas castle as if it were the first time...seeing how our girls react to seeing mickey for the first time....hearing the introduction to spectromagic...hearing jimminy cricket tell you the amount of minutes before spctromagic begins....seeing wishes and the wishes song...yup, i get chocked up just thinking of it...just walking down main street.....i even cry when we're say like at chef mickeys and when they annouce that someone is havinga birthday...and to wave your napkins in the air....oh i'm so bad...i think..no i know, after having children...seeing disneyworld through their eyes....oh i'm even more of a blubbering crying than before... :sohappy: but thats ok....i'm in disney world and i don't care..

I'll be a good sport and admit it :lookaroun

I fought them back in quite a few places last time I went to WDW. Places I never would have imagined. I was watching LMA and got teary eyed during a big explosion sequence. I was so happy to be back in my "home away from home"

Couple more places are Philharmagic during the Whole New World scene, Illuminations during We Go On, and just walking down Main Street USA. I didn't get to see Wishes but i'm sure I would have broken down during it. It was my last day and I had never seen it but it got rained out :(

Also one more thing got me really teary eyed, it was hard to fight them back. I was walking out of the castle heading toward Main Street and I saw 2 or 3 of the Make a Wish kids going toward Philharmagic and each one of them had the biggest smile on their face. You try holding them back after seeing something like that.

My wife got all teared up last year when we arrived at our room in the WL for the first time (It was our second time there). As the bellhop let us in, he said "Welcome home". That was all it took.

I got all mushy when my daughter and I were sitting on the ground during Wishes. We had our arms wrapped around each other. It was just so beautiful. My DH was standing behind us so I don't know if he was teary or not. I always get teary when my daughter gets a happy look on her face. Nothing like it! :)

In DL when the played Walt's dedication speech, I had to hold back the tears, I don't know what it is but I feel this sense of pride, it is weird.

During Wishes too, it is the same kind of feeling. When I see it, I just say to my self "Now I know why I love this place soo much."

When Mickey pops up in Fantasmic and all the kids mouths open wide. That's a great moment.

I agree.........that ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes - even when I just listen to it on my cd! Illuminations is another one......and Wishes..........but especially Fantasmic's ending!

SpectroMagic too..........American Adventure - always............(anything patriotic)

Yes, I've become a sap. :)

I agree, this should be a thread about when we DON'T cry, cause that would be less!

My top 10:
10. Tower of Terror...ok, this one was more out of fear than joy
9. COP; such a classic and knowing that my son loved it as much as I did
8. Convincing my son that Haunted Mansion wasn't really scary and seeing how much he loved it (I think we rode it 10 times at least)
7. that first drive onto Disney property and seeing the big sign! After a 24 hour road trip!
6. Hall of Presidents...I saw this for the first time just a few days after Ronald Reagan's death. It was very moving
5. Splash Mountain (my daddy used to tell me stories of Brer Bear, Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit when I was a little girl)
4. Festival of the Lion King (or anytime I hear the Circle of Life song)
3. Fantasmic
2. Wishes
1. Watching my daughters dance in Epcot with the Magic Music Days, less than a month after my oldest daughter broke her foot and we weren't sure she'd be able to dance at all!
