Do you feel more safe on Disney rides?

Great Adventure used to be a LOT worse. All it took to bring it around was multiple deaths at the park when an attraction (The huanted house) went up in flames (I was there the week before it happend, and did go in the haunted house)

If anybody care to read about them

"No one realized that lives had been lost until later that night, when firefighters searching one of the burnt-out trailers discovered the bodies, thought at first to be mannequins.[8]" from that article! I kind of found it funny!

"Bottom line"... That's not correct. On what can you base this claim? Your own perception?

Because statistically driving on the highway is ALOT more dangerous than riding ANY of the rides at Disney, or any other Theme Park for that matter. I say that not because I have faith in the safety upkeep of Disney's rides, which trust me, I REALLY don't, but because riding Theme Park rides are still usually a heck of alot safer than most everything else you do in life. Which is why I say that. Because having seen close calls and knowing some crazy stuff, pretty much every accident at the parks has been the fault of guests not adhering to Health warnings.

Do I think Disney's Rides are safe? Absolutely. Do I trust the people in charge of how their treated? Not at all, but that's still not enough risk to stop riding. Cause' again, on the DANGERSCALE...riding any of Disney's rides, even on a "bad day" is still alot safer than your commute to get there, or even just walking down a busy street in the middle of the day.

Disney rides...safe..Yep I sure do!!!! Even my kids are hesitant to go on local carnival and boardwalk rides beacuse they compare them to DISNEY!!!

I feel safe on Disney rides, though not necessarily safe-er.

Something about the fact that carnival and fair rides were designed to be dissassembled keeps me off them though.

When partaking in amusement park rides (no matter what amusement park) there are risks. Just like driving a car or flying a plane. This is not to excuse Disney or any other amusement park for negligence, but accidents happen.

That being said, I feel safer at Disney (especially WDW) than anywhere else :D.

It seems to me that all od the recent Deaths in WDW were do to guest negligence so I dont know what some of you peopel are talking about. The people who have died on Misson Space, died of preexisting conditions and not mechanical faliure. I dont rember the last time I heard someone being killed in WDW due to mech. failure.

I feel safe on every Disney ride except Space Mountain. When you get jerked up the top lift hills and it makes the schreeching and grinding sound I pray that the car stays on the track.

In my mind I know that I am going to be ok...but, I just get a terrifying gut feeling every time. It hasnt stopped me from riding it ever though, and it kind of makes it more fun in a weird sort of way.

That makes absolutely no sense...Six Flags rides aren't any less permanent than Disney rides...they just don't have any themeing. And in fact...due to the seasonal nature of those parks, the rides are more apt to not suffer from mechanical failures, as they are removed each season, rehabbed, and reinstalled.
