Do you always get your "requests?"

Hello everyone..I finally completed my online check-in for CBR...I'm really looking forward to my trip. I called up reservations and asked for Jamaica 45 and the woman said that she put it down but it is not guaranteed.

I was wondering if anyone else calls ahead and requests a certain building, section or room. Do you usually get it or is it a hit or miss thing? It would be nice to know ahead of time with your room number etc. but I guess you don't find out until you arrive.

Any thoughts or input on this? Thanks

I wish they would let you enter your room requests on the web site when you make your reservation. Currently I think the only things you can request are a crib and a refrigerator for PC. Maybe they are trying to discourage specific requests for room locations?

I'd say 95 per cent of the time, requests have been met, at all resorts. Best upgrade chance has been at Wilderness Lodge, have been upgraded many, many times.

We just stayed at Pop, never stayed at a Value before, always Mods and Deluxe, and I called the front desk directly, which I was always told does no good. But they told me the exact day to call back, which I did, and I made pretty specific requests. We had a preferred room, I requested 50's building, 4th floor, on the opposite side of pool, facing vegetation. We got all of these...and the room was ready at 10:30 a.m. We were impressed.

We have four kids under 6 so and we drive so we always request 1st floor and have always gotten it at Vaules. One year when my Son was on a Toy Story kick we asked for and got Buzz, 1st floor with a room adjoing my in laws...score! Last we when we had our 4th baby and our 3rd was almost 2 we stayed at PORS and asked for the Alligator Bayou so we could have the pull out bed and 1st floor....we got Magnolia on the 3rd floor so far from the pakring lot and bus stop that our kids were crying on the walk back...we bribed them with candy after breakfest if they walked back and didn't cry...they were 5 and 4 and we had the diaper bag and babies to carry...the front desk gave us two pack and plays so the our 2 year old could sleep somewhere (the pull out bed would have been perfect) Oh and the room was so dusty...but that is another story...Disney made us happy for room errors...
In Sept we are staying at the Family Suites and have request a 1st floor room...fingers crossed we get it:)

When I requested @ POP centry I got the room I wanted. I requested at All Star Sports i ASKED for the closed room I could get to the busses.. I got the last hotel(basketball) in literally the 1st floor last possible room. It was a 15 minute walk to the busses, we are staying in ALL star Movies in Preffered in Oct , but were renting a car any how! But I am excited to be closer to the action.

The only guarantee that Disney requests is for a family that needs connecting rooms because Disney doesn't want kids alone in a room or a husband and wife separated. So all requests are filled by a room blocker and based on availability. Also you need to prioritze your requests as the first listed is the most important. That is the first thing the blocker will do if they can and if they can do your second or third they will. Another thing is the time when you vacation. Peak and holiday seasons are tough but off season there are more rooms available.

Have stayed at POP four times (March 05, 07, 09, 11) and made a couple of requests when booking the last 3 trips through CAA. They have always given us a connecting room when we've requested one, but they never seem to put us in the section we ask for. To their credit, they have always corrected this after check-in each time.

This past trip, we arrived and checked in only to discover that we had been placed in the 60's building WAY at the back facing the pond and all of the Art of Animation construction. Upon arriving to the room, we all looked at each other with disappointment before I finally picked up the phone and called the front desk. I was told the building we requested (50's building, facing the pool) was a preferred building and she would have to ask a manager and get back to me. After waiting about 10-15 minutes for the call, I gave up and grabbed my daughter and headed towards the van to grab all of our stuff. On our way to the van, I happened to see a CM zoom by on a segway heading towards the 60's section and thought to myself, boy...wouldn't it be cool if he was heading to our room to tell us we had been moved to the 50's building! Well, on our way back to the room we happened to see my wife and son coming towards us with smiles on their faces. They stopped us and said turn around. They had indeed moved us to the 50's building, 4th floor, facing the pool. We all LOVED the new room and were SO glad that we took the chance and made the call. :sohappy:

Moral of the story is...if they don't grant your request upon initially checking in, just ask them if you can be moved to the section you asked for. It never hurts to ask!!! :animwink:

We stayed at POP in February 2008 and requested adjoining rooms for my mother in law and her sister, and got them. The best was last June at the CR where I was attending a conference and requested a MK view and got it! Other than that, I don't think we've ever made any other requests...so we're batting 1.000!
