Do the resorts have Starbucks in them?

Where can I go to get Starbucks? At D-land they have espresso carts that offer very nice espresso drinks, but I really need a genuine Starbucks latte once in a while. Since we'll be at the Caribbean Beach Resort for 7 days, I would love to start my days with a Starbucks vente/non-fat. I've heard about the humitidy...better make that iced!:slurp:

*Please* don't tell me I have to leave the happiest place on earth to get it...we're not renting a car!

I think Starbucks is so expensive (did the price go up?) because the quality of the name dropped. I forget what magazine it was but it had the top 100 brand names and Starbucks went down. There are too many I think thus cheapening the name, because the novelty is not there. I don't know if that's why though.

I will most likely get negative points for this, but does anyone else think starbucks tastes like chemicals, compared to other coffees?

Please speak your mind, within the boards standard of posting of course.

Don't hold back posing a question or sharing your opinion with all of us for fear of what others may think.

Found out that there is a coffee maker in each room at our resort...its usually a 4-cup, so I have already packed my coffee filters & packed my House Blend & scoop. Now, how am I going to keep my creamer from spoiling when I won't have a 'fridge?
I'm hoping the ice bucket will work.

Yeah, i was just going to recommend bringing your beans and grinder, provided the CB has makers in each room.

The markup on coffee is just as bad as it is on most goods. You're buying a lifestyle when you buy Starbucks, Peets etc

Its the same with people who are willing to pay $45 for an 8oz filet at one restaurant, and $18 at another. In many instances, the same purveyor is being used. But eating it in the more expensive restaurant makes people feel better about themselves, especially when they create more customers through their raves of such restaurants.

No negative's from me. I've never been able to come up with a comparison, but I don't think their coffee is good either. Doesn't taste very good, way way way way overpriced and is served by somebody called a barrista (spelling), c'mon get over yourselve's you serve coffee (not that there's anything wrong with this job).

I can only hope that we never see one of their logo's on property. It's bad enough having to look at the McDonalds fry carts. I go to WDW to get away from all the commercialism of the real world.

I agree. They put them in Target, of all places. I mean I LOVE Target but the images of Target and Starbucks just do not go together. Maybe Target was trying to raise their image but it did bring Starbucks down IMO.

This whole post makes me laugh--halfway through my most recent trip, I had to promise my daughter a trip to Starbucks as soon as we got the airport, so she could get her Frappicino fix.

Just remember it might not taste as good. Alot of places used treated water to make coffee. My MIL loves Dunkin Donuts coffee but it didn't taste the same when she made it at home. Seems they use a Culligan system to treat their water. Once she started using that it tasted the same. (she already had the system in the house, just not used). Ask the people at your favorite shop, I'm sure they'll give you the answer.

When I was in WDW last month, my mother decided she could not go 10 days without her Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts. (When you live in Boston, there's a DD literally every couple of blocks). For two nights, we went on expeditions looking for a Dunkin. CMs kept giving us different directions. We finally found one, my mother took one sip and said "This isn't made right!" :hammer:

Just for the record, Starbucks is part of Pepsico, or atleast all of their bottling lines are. Disney serves Coca-Cola exclusively. Do not expect to ever see Starbucks in WDW.

The biggest problem I have with bux is their prices. I still can't figure out how my coffee costs $3.50.It's beans and water and milk and sugar. I wonder if the Columbian Cartel are smuggling coffee instead of coke.It might be more profitable!

Coffee snobs claim that expensive machines (to buy and maintain) and proper grinders (also very expensive) is the only way to acheive a proper cup. I agree (yes I am a coffee snob) The problem I have with Starbucks is they are charging for a good cup of coffee, but most of their flavor is additives. Hence the chemical taste. You also get young kids (at least here) working the machines, who don't really know how (there is a proper process to these things). And last but not least the water for expresso must be at exactly the right temp (just 1 or 2 degrees below boiling point) to create the perfect creme ( the light colored foam on an expresso). Starbucks water is too hot. No creme and usually overly hot water will burn the coffee grounds. which will enhance the chemical flavor. So I guess my point is you are paying for the equipment, trained staff, and high quality that you do not get at starbucks. Not just your beans, water, milk and sugar.

I do not believe this was mentioned though it could have been, but the closest starbucks I have ever seen is in that Outlet Mall, not the bellz the other one that is closer to Disney. It is in the food court area, on the side closest to the Disney Outlet store. So if you need your Star Buck Coffee and have transportation, I think that is the closest to Disney. But I don't think it is the most convienent because if you go the quicker way from Disney you have to drive down that 2 lane road that can get pretty busy from the outlet mall traffic and if its Sunday the traffic from the church that is right there.

Is that the Orlando Premium Outlet? Its the sister outlet mall to the one here in town & we have a Starbucks. All the kids (with $) stop on the way to school , those with out $ go to Dunkin Donuts.

Yeap, that's the Orlando Premium Outlets, I drew a mental blank of what the name was when I was typing earlier. :)
