Ever have a conversation with family, friends, or people you work with and all of a sudden the topic of a vacation comes up?

To which you or the person responds; " Oh yeah, I'm going to Disney World ", and all of a sudden you or that person feels a little jealous?

Do you have to lie and tell people you've saved for years, even if you haven't?

After being told about someone's pending good time, do you secretly wish for bad weather for that person?

Do you not even brag at all, and just take it in stride?

I can personally say that people are extremely jealous of how many vacations I take with my family, but when I mention I'm going to Disney World, I can personally see the gnashing of teeth, and the green eyed monster.

How does a Disney vacation, yours or someone elses, affect you?

I think its great when someone says, their going to Disney World and I usually say, Oh, where ya staying, or when are you going or how long are you going for? But mostly, if someone asks me where I am going on vacation I say "Florida" because they know I've been to Disney World every year since forever, so I am sure they think...why the heck are they going THERE again...so I just say, Florida and I let them think what they want.

For some reason I can't see what this is all about and why would there be a third option that involves some star?

Honestly, when I hear people are going I am happy for them and offer any help to answer questions that come up before the go. I also wish it was me going too but I know my time will shortly come to go. I Never wish anything bad on any one or hope there trip is just Okay. Honestly I feel like when the Mrs & I tell family we are going to Disney again that they get jealous and I see sometimes a look of how the heck they do that and I don't. I just tell them that our priority is to go to Disney on Vacation and save up and cut back here and there so the DWF & I can go at least once a year (which is the truth).

God bless the "Ignore" button.
My girlfriend is going with her family over Spring Break, and I'm crazily jealous. Yes, I'm happy for her, but that doesn't change the fact that I wish I were going!
Luckily I can live vicariously through her. :)

No jealousy for me! It can usually be a good conversation asking when youre going, with who, going for a particular reason, and then I talk about past or my future Disney trips :)

Of course no one here is going to be jealous, at least if you are its just in a fun way and your like, dang i wanna go too, grrrr.... I think its the people that find out you are going to disney world and look at you like .. thats who we're referring too here. Most people think disney is only for the rich and for little kids. They don't understand that when done right, its not that much more then just taking a standard vacation. Value season, value resorts, free dining, whatever other special offer is going on, it can be done without going broke but most people dont even give it a chance. They just chose to give you a glare and assume you're just jackin up youre credit cards to go to disney every year. I think this because its how my parents are, i try and tell them how much they would enjoy it and how yes its expensive, but not outragous but no matter what everytime they say ohh no we can't go to disney, to much money, gotta fly there blahblahblahblah....they refuse to consider it but yet look at my wife and i in our mid 20's going multiple years and I know they think we're blowing our money. I think thats the type of jealousy you'll get from non "disney" people.

There is a guy at work who actually makes light of it. He can't understand why I go. So he smears the whole idea of Disney World. He does his best to discredit the whole Orlando area saying it isn't an "adult" vacation. He has influenced people at work that have never been that it would be impossible to enjoy it without kids. Privately, I have had these people come up and ask me what it's really like. Sad to say I guess they are afraid of being ridiculed by this guy. I never care, we've all been to Disney on these boards so we know better.

I have several friends that wonder why I go, or why I love it so much! Its been a part of my life since childhood, and I feel at home on Disney property. I don't have any kids and am not married at this point - Disney is made for everyone, if they just give it a chance. With the crowds at peak - Im glad everyone doesn't go, then I'd have to wait longer in line.
I've read it is the number one destination on the PLANET, with over a billion people having visited - Im not worried about the non Disney folks. You don't know what your missing if you've never been I guess!

Exactly, I just wrote a park by park list of things to do for a friend thats never been, she's told me a few times during her trip what an amazing help it has been. I enjoy knowing that Ive helped her have a better vacation!

I understand what your saying. When the conversation turns to holidays it can sometimes feel like gloating when the person who has opened the subject up is having a week in Spain and is really excited about it.
I tend to steer the subject away from Disney and back to what they are going to enjoy about their holiday ( excuse the English) vacation.:o

I get a tad jealous when people I know are going to visit the Disney Parks, and I'm unable to go. But I do try to help people plan their vacations, etc.

Most people at my work are jealous about everything. Most people I work with have miserable existances. Bad spouses and or money probs etc. I shoot down to WDW usually 4 times a year, mostly cause I own a house nearby. I usually tell them I am just going to work on my house and such.

I am the type of person that would be excited for my friends is they won the lottery. My coworkers 2nd biggest wish is to win the lottery. Their 1st biggest wish is that I don't win it.

I tell them nothing of my plans about anything, but I let them leak out sometimes, just to erk em.

haha...I do get a little jealous, I always wanna go! but at the same time, I'm really happy for ppl that get to go, especially first timers. I try to help them plan and steer them in the best direction.
