DME question....

Does anyone know if it is possible for people staying at seperate resorts to somehow take the same DME bus to their resort, or to one of the resorts, and then taxi/bus to the 2nd resort a bit after gettting to the first resort?
Here is why I ask:
My mother is going to WDW with us for her first trip in about 17 years. She is staying at ASSp and we are at CSR. I was hoping to be able to take the DME bus with her to either our resort, and then me and her could taxi to check her in, or I would ride with her to ASSp while the rest of my family went to CSR. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I am going to call DME tomorrow as they are closed for the night, but wanted to see if I could find the answer here before calling them!

There's a chance that depending on crowds you will already be on the same bus because of the zone. Unfortunately you won't know that until you get there.

Technically, no.

Your bus assignment is based on the resort you're in. There are two options: 1) you can add your name to her resort reservation, but that would create problems if you're on package reservations, or 2) you can hope you happen to get assigned to a bus that's going to both and just get off where your mom gets off.

I would still call and ask, they may be able to accommodate you regardless, but I doubt it.

I was figuring it would not be known until we got to the airport :( I will still call to double check, but I am pretty sure we will get the "it will depend on the day/hour of check in". (we wont pay to get a car/taxi to the resorts, so we will just have to be ok with having seperate arrival busses!!!)

IF I am not mistaken all the All Star's go on the same bus and the CSR is with Pop. It really depends on how busy things are but with the All Stars being so big they usually are by themselves.

You could talk to someone at DME and they could easily let you onto the bus with your mom. Since your stuff should be yellow tagged your luggage would still go to your resort with your families.

The last trip we took there were people on our bus who weren't suppose to and DME ended up dropping them off at their resort but they were last since it wasn't technically in their loop. Unless they realize your boarding pass says CSR no one would know you aren't suppose to be on the ASSp bus unless you say something.

It will really all be dependent on crowds. All the resorts are in the AK zone, so they will share a bus if there is room. However, if there are enough people to fill for one or two resorts then they will do that. If she was arriving in the middle of the night, I would say it would be a lot more likely than arriving in the middle of the day.

Just call Disney and talk to reservations....they can arrange this for you.

You can also call Mears directly (they run the DME service under contract for WDW)....

And alternately, you can go in the Guest Services line at MCO, and they can arrange it for you there as well.

Enjoy your trip!

Yes you can. I did this when I went with my extended family. We had different budgets so some of us were at Deluxe resorts and some at moderates. The people at POFQ were there for the first time and wanted to have someone more expereinced with them to help at check in and to get them to our meeting spot for dinner at Magic Kingdom.

I was staying at Beach Club and called DME and explained the situation. They said it would be no problem. I didn't have any problems getting on the bus either.
