DMC-12's big meaty fun trip report (better late than never!)

Hey Gang.... first off...pics are up and are at:

Details... DEC 10-17th... 7 total in our group.

Con:

-Chef Mickeys: AWFUL!! just horrible!... The sausage was what I like to call "sausage Jerkey" all dried out and not edible... The service stunk... and the Camera/Photo Nazi at/near the podium is not so nice either. EeeeYuck...! :hurl: I will NEVER do Chef Mickeys again! I understand that this is a place for kids... but thats no excuse for crappy service and awful food.

Pro:

-BOMA: Wow! This place is one of my new breakfast favs! :slurp:
Simply put... sausage = more gooder! They were like the sausage they serve you at the Kona Cafe... thick... plump and juicy. Soooo much to choose from! Love the pork, and curry, and the corned beef hash skillet with cornbread on top! And the omlet bar rocks!

-The Illuminations Cruise: Very Cool! We had Captain Scott on the Pontoon boat... good times!! Also met Captain Ron... and it turns out... that his daughter lives right down the street from me... and so did he at one point!

Cons:

-Got stuck on Spaceship Earth for 45min... at the scene where the mom sings the kid a lullabye on the video phone... UGH! I am now scarred for life! And I cant get that damed lullabye out of my head. :lol: :p

-The egg roll stand was closed in adventureland... both days I went to the MK :( :lol: It was a bummer though.


Pros:

-The parents did NOT know about the drop in PoTC...so when we got to the drop.... the MIL said "Hold on dad!! They to-to-to-took us on some Bull****!!" :lol: I laughed so hard during the rest of the ride! :lol: :o

-O'Hana for dinner: The BEST meal during the whole trip! Got a great window seat.... and watched Wishes right before the main course. :slurp:
Will be doing O'Hana more often now! -- Gotta love the hot towels between the appetizer and the main course!

-Did I mention the Illuminations Cruise? It was great! I/we will be doing that again as well!

-Mmmm Dole Float! I got the fam hooked on this as well! haha! :lol:

-Churros!

-The prime rib at cindys castle! YUM! :slurp: Our server was great!

I will post more as it comes across my mind, later on.

Eh, I stopped doing the usual "long winded" trip report thing a long time ago... I dont want to bore people... so I just do this condensed version -- its more fun and less like work, to me. :wave:

Cons:

-The Living Seas -- I know its still under construction... but its awful. Whats the deal with the que for Turtle Talk being in the middle of the place?? Ugh. I just skipped The Living Seas... cause I was so annoyed and there was no way to manuver around the hordes of people waiting to see turtle talk. What a train wreck.

-Camp Minnie Mickey... Eh... I dont really like this area... first of all.. its a traffic nightmare before and after Festival of the Lion King.... (and I didnt think that show was all that great). Being trampled is not my idea of fun.

Pros:

-The Land... I like the new layout and color scheme! Very nice! Though the fam did not want anything from the food court there... so we went over to the Electric Umbrella and got burgers instead. I love the que for Soarin... nice and colorful. I hate to say it... but I am glad Food Rocks is gone. :lookaroun

-Everest: looks good! They were running tests on it while we were there.

-The Resorts all decorated for x-mas. I did some resort hoping... and they all looked great!

That has got to be one of the funniest things I've heard all day! :lol: Oh...I will think of that when I'm down there this weekend and laugh my butt off!!!

Okay. Once I got stuck on Spaceship Earth for about the same amount of time right by the speaker that says, "Please remain seated. Your time travel machine will be turning around for your return to earth" or whatever it says. I sure knew it that day-after 45 minutes of hearing it repeated every 7 seconds. Jamming a rusty nail under my fingernails would have been a better alternative. :brick:

2nd, one day I was in Adventureland and got an egg roll at the egg roll cart. the very next day I went back (not to get an egg roll, but I was in Adventureland) and it had become a nacho cart! No more egg rolls! And it was that like, pre-packaged cheese that they just warm up...gross. :rolleyes:

3rd, doesn't MIL stand for Mother In Law and if so, WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED?!!? :eek:
