LOL, I'll never understand your adoration for Autopia. I love the ride too, but not as much as you. Why are you so fascinated with it?

Probably of the wonderful exhaust inducing headache you get from hanging out in line there. Time for it to go away. Put something in there that's exciting. I love(d) Autopia, but it's time to be replaced.

WHAT?! No, I really want Autopia to stay, even though if it were to be rid of, a couple of attractions could take its place. Disney needs to update the attraction. It's no longer futuristic. I would be really sad to see Autopia go. Innoventions on the other hand...

It's just the sheer charm. I love the theme that Autopia has, and while I don't actually know if it's supposed to have a backstory or not (sorry, I'm not completely versed in DL attractions) I love the queue, the personality portrayed in some of the displays, the sight gags throughout the queue and the ride itself. But I think what I like most about it is that it's not just themed as a speedway. I mean that's pretty silly anyway to theme a car ride that goes 7 mph as a speedway, so the fact that they went away from that and made it a nice Sunday drive through whatever town we're supposed to be driving through is great (i love the "offroad" part too).

Overall though, I think the kinetic energy of that corner of the park is elevating my opinion as well. Something about submarines moving in the lagoon, a monorail soaring overhead....it's just so alive over there.

Okay, when you put it that way, I understand more. I love the queue, too, as it's very entertaining. The jokes are corny but cute and the screening room is the best part. I haven't ridden Speedway, but I've heard there's nothing to look at, unfortunately. Plus, like you said, "speedway" doesn't match the actual speed people are going in those cars. Do they give you driver's licenses at MK?

The kinetic energy is great, I agree. It's one of the few nice areas in Tomorrowland. How many times did you ride Autopia during your last trip?

I also like the kinetic energy of the huge swarms of bees over there in between those rides that were there last summer. Good lord it was nuts.

They could solve that problem really easy just make Autopia part of Fantasyland like they did with Matterhorn years ago. No need to upgrade. ;)

Unfortunately Autopia doesn't naturally fit in with Fantasyland, LOL. Speaking of Autopia and Fantasyland, Auopia takes up more land than all of Fantasyland. The land could be used for many things... Still, I don't want Autopia to go anywhere.

I was half joking. There was an Autopia in Fantasyland though when I was younger it had cut outs of the Rescue Rangers around the track. I guess they ended up combining the track together to make the big one they have now.

What was the attraction called?
Fantasyland Autopia - I had to look it up it closed in 1999.

They at one point had 3 Autopias at the same time. The Midget Autopia was mini cars and got torn down for IASW but Fantasyland and Tomorrowland each had their own Autopia until 1999 when they were down for a year to make one big Autopia. Link

Apparently it was only the Rescue Rangers Raceway 91-92 but that's what stuck out in my mind. This is the only picture that I could find online
