Going to DL 5/7-5/14 and I'm disappointed the BTMRR will be closed - but I've been on it enough times at DL it won't be a HUGE disappointment!

anyone think World of Color might get a new segment if its refurb like Valentines Day segment involving all of the Disney princesses?
I think it's somewhere between very possible and probable that there will be a segment like that, but that's not what the refurb is for. They've switched over segments without downtime before, and if they were doing something new that needed new effects, that would probably mean a long refurb to drain the bay and drill into the concrete at the bottom. 99% sure this is just the routine maintenance.

It's A Small World is getting a few extra weeks this year for its Holiday removal. Usually that is accomplished in 10 or 11 days, just like Haunted Mansion's Holiday removal earlier in January. I wonder what's up for Small World this winter? Probably just painting and touch ups, but still...

What is Fantasmic's normal schedule during the week? Just trying to make final preparation on our itinerary for our trip in early March and I have us in DIsneyland Park for both Saturday and Sunday night, then Monday night at DCA for WoC, and back for our final day in both parks on a Wednesday.

Also, does anyone know of a way to get discounted tickets for the San Diego Zoo? That's where we're heading on Tuesday of our trip!

THanks for your help!

Fantasmic! only plays Friday-Sunday that time of year, typically two shows per night at 9PM and 10:30PM. The second show is much less crowded, especially on Sunday night. You might want to catch the late show on Saturday, and then try again for a different view on Sunday. Remember that with the Mark Twain closed for rehab at that time, they'll do the slightly cheesy "Island Finale'" sans the riverboat. The rest of the show plays as normal, however.

World of Color plays seven nights per week, with typically one show per night on weeknights when they close at 9PM or earlier, and two shows per night on weekends when they close at 10PM or later. Speak with the CM's at the WoC Fastpass distribution area to get the correct showtime you want. Or, a great way to do WoC is try the dining package deals available from most sit-down restaurants at DCA on the Disneyland.com website.

The only discounts for the zoo I know of are available to members of the San Diego Zoological Society. Unless you have family in San Diego who are Society members, it's pretty much rack rate. Although, doesn't the SoCal Citypass offer the Zoo and/or Safari Park as part of their package? Hmm.... just checked and it looks like the San Diego Zoo is an upcharge option for the regular Citypass. If you weren't also planning on doing Sea World and Universal Studios, it probably isn't worth it. http://www.citypass.com/southern-california/san-diego-zoo

I find it fascinating that Disneyland Park can have 2 mountains and a slew of other thing's closed at the one time while WDW has trouble taking one E ticket down in the entire resort... Different culture indeed...

You think that's something? You should see the rehab schedule for Tokyo Disneyland, it's even more aggressive than Disneyland USA's.

The cosmetic and facility difference is now quite visible between WDW's four parks and Disneyland Resort's two parks.

Although, WDW does a pretty good job of keeping their exterior facades and buildings in good cosmetic condition (probably because to neglect them in the harsh Florida climate would spell doom within a year or two). It's the building interiors, smaller details, and attraction environments that have the starkest contrast between the two properties.

Editor’s Note:
January 6, 2013: A Preview and Review With Cars Land now famous around the country as Disney's biggest theme park hit in decades, the Blue Sky Cellar will end its role of promoting the latest in DCA's 1.2 Billion dollar extreme makeover. The Cellar preview center closes on Sunday night for ten days to remove the current displays, and will reopen for the MLK Jr. holiday weekend as a preview center for next door neighbor Disneyland. The WDI plans for the Princess Fantasy Faire opening March 10th and the new Fantasyland Theater stage show opening in late May will be exhibited this winter and spring at the Blue Sky Cellar. And after that?....

Mickey's Soundsational Parade- Just an FYI there are no parades at DL Jan. 7-10. Soundsational returns on Friday Jan 11.

I noticed that as well, I hope it gets a fresh coat of paint on its facade. Another item I think needs new paint is the canopy to King Arthur Carrousel.

That will be great to see!

For those who didn't go to the link, here's what Mr. Lutz has said this weekend about the upcoming Blue Sky Cellar changeover....

Anybody ready for a Soarin' refurb?? Geesh that screen looks shoddy... On a side note, I was down at WDW in December with a group of family who wanted to ride it but my wife and I know it's the same exact film as DCA's. Why not make it Soarin' over the World instead of being the cheapest bastards possible and running the same thing? Grumble grumble...

Sorry if this has been talked about on a different post.

My wife and I are making our first trip ever to DLR in a few weeks from 1/27-1/31. What a bummer!!!! No Splash, Tea Party, Big Thunder, Grizzly River Run, Muppets, Small World... What WILL be open? :(
