Perhaps if some of youre posts were not quiet so abrasive and condesending, especially to new posters I would not feel the need to reply.
As for keeping things neat and tidy I thought this was an informal place not a research tool. But thats just me, so again I bow to your superior organisational abilities.

All I'm trying to do is keep things somewhat uncluttered. I'm sorry that I don't like seeing 3 or 4 threads about the same stupid topic that are each growing in length. I'd much rather see ONE THREAD THAT IS ALREADY LONG grow longer instead of seeing 2 or 3 others grow to be that length.

I think maybe you're just worrying a bit too much. Don't worry about clutter. If things get out of hand Steve can very easily put the threads together. If a thread bothers you so much just skip it. Like they always say, "don't sweat the small stuff"

Think taking out "Dixie" from everywhere in Riverside, I heard they;ve also changed the names of most of their reataurants to remove the word "cotton" from the names. Now the "Cotton co-op" is the "River Roost" and some list the "Colonel's Cotton Mill" as "Riverside Mill". How long has cotton been politically incorrect?

Colonel was often what a plantation owner was called. Cotton was often the main crop on plantations. That cotton was picked by slaves.

why the hell do people see it this way? I think that it should have been left alone. What I said is just as good a reason as what any one has.

Seriously, I don't think that T-L Boy was trying to defend the name changes, just giving an explanation as to why they might have done it. His explanation makes sense to me as to WHY someone could POSSIBLY find the names offensive....but I also don't agree with revising history to be PC!

you're right The Mom, and i just caught that when i was going through the posts again (that it sounded like i was attacking him for what he said) i never meant it in that way. what i meant was why do the PC people see it that way...not that T-L Boy was trying to be PC and defending the name change. so sorry it sounded that way! i really should've been more specific.
